═══════════════════════════════════Phil's Knee Warmer

═══════════════════════════════════My father-in-law, after his knee replacement surgery, complained that his new knee was cold during the winter months. He requested a knee warmer, which I happily provided. Here's the result!

Short rows add the “knee bend” to allow these ribbed knee warmers to move with you while keeping you warm and snug.

SIZE Medium (Large) to fit knee measuring approximately 15” (18“) around.

MATERIALS (for one knee warmer) Yarn: 52(56) grams worsted weight yarn,

although if you shorten the top and bottom by a few rows, you can probably get away with one 50 gram ball. Ella Rae Classic Print (100% wool) used for blue-green model. Henry's Attic Licorice Twist (100% merino wool) used for purple model.

Needles: U.S. size 5 (3.75 mm) 16 inch circular AND a U.S. size 10 (6 mm) needle for a very loose bind off.

Stitch marker Blunt darning needle

GAUGE24 stitches/4 inches in stockinette stitch (knit at a firmer gauge than usual for extra snugness).

KEY

K = Knit

P = Purl

RS = Right side

W&T (wrap and turn) = leaving the yarn wherever it is (on the WS if you just finished a knit stitch, on the RS if you just finished a purl stitch), slip the next stitch purlwise to the right-hand needle. Move the yarn between the needles to the other side of your work, slip the slipped stitch back to the left-hand needle, and then move the yarn between the needles to where it was before. Turn your work around.

WS = Wrong side
