Our New Church Update 11/01/17
We appear to have finally started, what we in the construction industry call “the dry season”, and look forward to the next 3 – 4 months of little rain. There is a small portion of site work left, and this can now be accomplished in the next 30 – 35 days. We hope all parishioners took advantage of the north entrance opening last weekend. The available parking around the entrance of our new church is accessible to park in, and the walk to Mass is shorter than walking from White Eagle. The south parking area will be reopened to us within the next 3 to 4 weeks. Our contractor will start pouring all the sidewalks around the new church and complete the asphalt work.
Recently, the following work has started: The main roof and insulation are complete. Once the stucco work above the Adoration Chapel
and the Daily Mass Chapel is complete, the final roofs will be installed. Window frames are being installed throughout the structure. Glass installation continues as fast as
the manufacture can produce these special pieces. The exterior metal wall framing and plywood sheathing is now complete. Exterior scaffolding and stucco has now started on the north and east elevations. The south
elevation and all stucco work will be completed by the end of November. Final exterior painting has started on the west and north sides of the church.
Interior work being performed is as follows: Exterior wall insulation and framing are being installed on walls as they become available. Drywall is being installed above the ceiling areas of the Main and Daily Chapel above the ceiling
heights. Ceiling soffit framing in the Daily Chapel and Main Church area has started. The mechanical (duct work), electrical, and fire protection work above the ceiling framing has
started in the Daily Chapel and the Main Church Area. All of the mechanical equipment has been set on the Mezzanine Level. The framing of the interior walls continues so the mechanical trades can rough in their work, such
as light switches and electrical outlets. The concrete platforms for the Main Church Altar and Daily Mass Altar have been poured.
As always, please continue to pray for the safety of the workers and that our contractors continue to stay on budget and on schedule. Thank you to all the excited and wonderful parishioners that have contributed to the building fund and continue to support our dream for this church. We are so grateful, we love and pray for each and every one of you.God Bless you all,
