Memorandum To: Whom it May Concern From: Samuel Dee, City of Siloam Springs IT Manager Date: October 1, 2014 Subject: Letter of Recommendation for Patrick Brophy
Patrick Brophy has been with us nearly two years, beginning as a contractor and then as a full
time City employee. In that time he has engineered and conducted an almost complete overhaul
of the existing network.
Hitting the ground running, Patrick began a top to bottom implementation Hyper-V server
environments to replace the existing Citrix servers, updated and/or replaced many of the data
switches across the WAN, configured and installed a Cisco ASA 5512 firewall to replace an
aging Juniper. The City of Siloam Springs network consists of 14 locations connected via single-
mode fiber, to include three data centers and two backup locations. Any work done in this
environment requires a good amount of knowledge, skill, and dedication.
Patrick has been instrumental in the planning and roll out of several in-house and new
construction projects that have extended the ability of our department to provide a much more
robust and dependable service across a large geographical area.
His attitude is always professional and I know that I can always depend on Patrick to go the
extra mile to ensure any projects are done correctly the first time and on time. I have grown to
depend on being able to set a task and be confident that he will carry it out every time.
This letter is prompted by Patrick's departure from the Systems Administrator position as he
relocates to a new home. We will miss him and he will be very difficult to replace. I highly
recommend him to any future employer.
Thank you,
Samuel Dee
