■ The use of oral Passiflora incarnata decreasespreoperative anxiety in adults undergoing inguinalherniorrhaphy, according to a randomised, controlledtrial. Sixty patients were randomised to receivePassiflora incarnata [Passipy] 500mg (n = 30), orplacebo, 90 minutes before surgery. Numeric RatingScale anxiety scores were significantly lower in thepassiflora group than for the placebo group at 10, 30,60 and 90 minutes following medication.Movafegh A, et al.
