You can count on our quality
Up to the minute core-laying technology(step lap) and the application of high quality, extremely low loss sheet steelwith low magnetism, guarantees thecustomer low no-load losses and noiseemissions.
Short-circuit lossesThanks to the optimisation of the conductor cross sections, low-load losses can be achieved in relation to theadditional losses. As a result, SGB trans-formers completely meet the technicalas well as the economical requirementswith regard to short circuit proofing.

The SGB transformers cores contain goodcharacteristics. Both the painstaking selection of the materials and the dependable design of the moulded piecesand their solid manufacture are decisivefor the high quality. The concurrence of these factors permitsprogressive optimisation of no-load lossesand currents, in addition to noise levels. Inthe case of dimension limitations, even themost extreme customer demands can beaccommodated.

It is not without reason that SGB trans-formers fulfil the highest requirements ofreliability and long life. The winding process is carried out usingmachines especially constructed for this, which ensures high quality and preciseresults.
• The winding process is carried out byqualified personnel on the latest windingmachines.
• The selection of the type of winding andconductor is made, taking the dimen-sioning currents and the dimensioning tension into account, together withthe required test level as well as the
expected thermal and mechanicalstress.
• During the optimisation of the conductorcross-sections, the influence of the conductor size on the amount of theadditional losses is equally considered,as are the requirements on the short-circuit proofing.
• The stabilisation of the axial windingdimensions is achieved through pre-drying, then establishing the definedwinding lengths during application of theintended gripping force and thethorough, symmetrical design of the windings. At the same time, possiblenecessary measures of compensationmust be included in the calculation toavoid unsymmetrical forces.
• The dispersed arrangement of the press-board barriers and oil extensions permita modern isolation construction betweenthe windings.
• The transformers show an adequatejoint compression and / or gripping of the windings at the core, taking theoccurrences of the axial short-circuitforces into account.
• The correctness of the basic methods ofcalculation and design principles is pro-ved through repeated short-circuit tests.Proofing is carried out both on our ownaccount and at the customer’s request.
• In order to optimally use the windingspace, the winding principles and theconductor types are carefully selectedfor each individual case.
• The stabilisation of the axial windingdimensions is achieved through predrying. The requirements of the dielectric strength and the short circuitproofing, are taken into account equallyas much as the thermal requirements.
