Important Notes IMPORTANT – Connecting OTG USB to Devices
When using the USB stick to connect to your computer, smartphone and other devices please take care to align the interfaces correctly. We recommend removing the OTG USB from devices when not in use to minimize the risk of damage to either.
IMPORTANT - Uninstall Existing Antivirus!
IMPORTANT! You may have to uninstall any existing antivirus programs from your computer before installing this Panda program. You can do this through the Programs section of the Control Panel.
Existing antivirus programs could include those from: AVG, F-Secure, Kaspersky, McAfee, Norton.
How To Uninstall (Windows)
In order to uninstall any existing antivirus please follow instructions provided by your antivirus
vendor or use the following guidance.
Windows 10 Users 1. Click Start. 2. Find the [Existing antivirus product] you want to uninstall and right-click. 3. Select Uninstall from the context menu, and follow on-screen prompts. Windows 8 Users 1. In the Start screen, type Programs and Features (Or click Settings in the Charms Bar). 2. Click Programs and Features. 3. Select [Existing antivirus product], Click Uninstall / Change and follow on-screen prompts. Windows 7 & Vista users 1. Click Start, then click Control Panel 2. Click Programs – Uninstall a program 3. Select [Existing antivirus product], Click Uninstall and follow on-screen prompts. Windows XP users 1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel. 2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs. 3. Select [Existing antivirus product], Click Remove and follow on-screen prompts.

How do I install . . .
. . . Panda Internet Security 2016 on my Windows PC?
IMPORTANT! You may have to uninstall any existing antivirus programs from your computer before installing this Panda program. You can do this through the Programs section of the Control Panel.
The installation of Panda 2016 is very user-friendly, just follow the steps below:
1. Insert the USB stick into your computer
2. Open the USB folder
3. Double-click the Panda Install.exe on the USB stick
4. Select Language and click Next
5. Click ACCEPT and INSTALL, then wait while the product installs
6. Enter your Activation Code carefully. Type your activation code printed on the card insert which came with your product exactly as it appears (alphanumeric characters then a hyphen then numbers, with no spaces)
7. You should see a message that confirms Activation successful!
8. Click Close to continue, then click OK to restart the console with the product fully installed and activated
NOTE: Keep the Internet Security 2016 card in a safe place for future reference.

. . . Panda Mobile Security for Android™?
Panda Internet Security 2016 features a full protection module for Android™ mobile devices that you can
download and install whenever you need, up until the license of your Panda Internet Security 2016 expires.
Note: Install methods and images may vary depending on your Android™ device.
You can access the installation file for Panda Mobile Security for Android™ using one of the methods below:
1. Directly Through The Google Play Store
1. Visit the Google Play page http://go.pandasecurity.com/mobile-security/ where you can
download and install Panda Mobile Security (aka Free Antivirus and Security). Simply click
Install. Go to the Installing Panda Mobile Security Section below
The Panda Mobile Security page can also be reached by scanning this QR code on your
mobile phone (suitable QR scanning software may be required):

2. Directly from your OTG USB stick
1. Insert the OTG USB stick carefully into your Android™ device.
2. The USB storage option may appear automatically, if not then access through the file
browser of your device
3. Select the USB Storage Option then run file PandaAv.apk
4. Your device may ask you to allow installation of Applications from Unknown Sources, this
must be enabled to continue the install.
Note: If you are unsure about allowing this process then the installation method through your
Panda MyAccount below does not require this authorisation.

5. Go to the Installing Panda Mobile Security Section below
3. Through Your Panda MyAccount
1. Access your Panda MyAccount by clicking here, preferably from your Android™ device.
2. Enter your email address and password and click Login.
If you have forgotten your Panda Account password, click Forgot your password?
You will then be prompted to enter the email address associated with your Panda
Account and you will receive instructions on how to change your password.
If you still haven´t created your Panda Account, select Create new account.

Panda Account and how do I set it up?
3. Once in your Panda Account, under My Products, select the Install option in the box for
Android™. The activation code will be generated at that point.

4. You will be directed to the Google Play page http://go.pandasecurity.com/mobile-security/
where you can download and install Panda Mobile Security (aka Free Antivirus and
Security). Simply click Install. Go to the Installing Panda Mobile Security Section below
Installing Panda Mobile Security
1. When you run the Panda Mobile Security installer on your Android™ device it will take you through
the installer wizard, follow the onscreen instructions.
2. When installed select Have a code? and enter the Activation Code on the card insert provided with
your Panda Internet Security 2016.

Panda Internet Security 2016 features a full protection module for one of your Mac© computers that you
can download and install whenever you need, up until the license of your Panda Internet Security 2016
expires.
Just follow the steps below:
1. Access your Panda Account by clicking the link below:

NOTE: If you have not already set-up a Panda Account you will have to click Create new account and
once created enter the activation code from your Panda Internet Security 2016 to generate the
Antivirus for Mac serial code.
2. Enter your email address and password and click Login.
o If you have forgotten your password to access your Panda Account, click option Forgot
your password?
You will then be prompted to enter the email address associated with your Panda Account
and you will receive instructions on how to change your password.
o If you still haven´t created your Panda Account, select Create new account.

3. Once in your Panda Account, click My Products and select the Install option in the box for Mac©.
The serial number or activation code will be generated at that point and the installation file
PAV4MAC.dmg will be available.
4. Now, keep your serial number in a safe place because you will need it later on.
5. Look for the PAV4MAC.dmg file you previously saved and install it on your Mac computer.
6. Finally, register your license using the serial number previously created.

Panda Account
Setting up Your Panda Account to Manage Products
Your Panda Account is an exclusive area available for all Panda clients which feature the following benefits:
Download your products.
Manage the services of your product, find out the expiry date, renew the license, etc.
Obtain the specific documentation of your product.
Report issues of your product to Technical Support.
To create your Panda Account, just follow the Panda 2016 installation wizard through. We highly advise you
to do it this way, as your account details will be automatically associated to the Activation Code of your
product.
You can also create your account outside the installation of Panda 2016. However, bear in mind that you
will need to associate the product´s activation code to your Panda Account manually afterwards.
Create your Panda account
1. Access Panda Account by visiting https://myaccount.pandasecurity.com
2. Click Create new account to sign up.
3. Fill in the Email address, Password, Confirm password, Country and click Create.

4. You will get confirmation that the account has been correctly created.
5. All you need to do at this point is verify the email address you entered during the signing up
process. The verification process must occur at the time of the signup as it is time sensitive.
Activate your Panda account
1. Access your inbox, open the email sent by Panda Security and click the Activate your account!
button.
2. Once your account is activated, you can confirm your data. This step is optional. Enter your data or,
if you prefer to do it later on, press Not now.
Add your products
The last step of the Panda Account creation wizard after activating the account will take you straight to the
section called My Products within your Panda Account. The same applies after logging in your newly
created account.
In any case, once in My Products, you need to associate your Panda 2016 to your Panda Account. To do so,
follow the steps below:
1. Click +Add first in the You still haven´t registered any products window.
2. Now, add the Activation Code of your product.
That´s it! Now, you are all set to access your Panda Account and start enjoying all the benefits it offers!

Internet Security 2016 for Windows
Here we highlight some of the main features included in Panda Internet Security 2016 for Windows.
You can click the arrows at the side of the screen to move between the pages of the interface.

the Panda Internet Security 2016 interface.

Scan - Protection against viruses and other threats
This is the actual anti-malware protection, commonly known as antivirus. This protection scans the
computer, detecting and disinfecting malware found. It leverages various detection techniques (local
signatures, heuristic technologies, behaviour analysis and cloud based Collective Intelligence).
Scanning will run in the background as you use your computer and also it allows on-demand scanning of
the computer. It provides the following scan types:
Full scan. Scans the entire computer. This can take some time depending on the computer
speed and number of files, it is recommended you run this when your computer is not busy
with other intensive activities (running reports, videos, playing games)
Critical areas. Scans computer areas where malware is most commonly found (memory
processes, cookies, etc.). It only takes a few minutes to complete.
Custom scan. Allows you to select the folders and areas to scan.
Panda’s consumer products incorporate a Scan Manager technology which speeds up scans to the
maximum. This scan manager performs ultra-fast scans of computers using all computer processors
simultaneously. The scans are now faster, more efficient and only act when necessary. Consequently, scan
time is reduced by up to 70%, making the most of computer resources.
Improved quarantine

The new 2016 line includes an improved quarantine to which all detected malware is moved. Detected
threats are kept in quarantine for a safe period (7 days in the case of malware), before they are finally
removed. This gives users greater control over deleted items, and minimizes the chance of a false positive.
Personal Firewall
A firewall is a device or software designed to allow or deny network connections according to certain rules.
Panda's firewall protects PCs from unauthorized access while permitting legitimate communications. The
firewall comes with three pre-set settings depending on whether you are at Home, in Work or in a Public
Place.
If you are confident in your abilities then full firewall configuration options are available in the Settings,
though this is recommended for advanced users.
Parental Control (Web content filtering)
In addition to the Web page blocking feature included in previous versions, the 2016 line also provides the
ability to monitor kids’ online activities.
The dashboard provides a summary of the most visited Web pages and categories, and a detailed report of
all pages accessed (page, category, date/time). The Parental Control technology is fully browser-
independent, so deleting the browser history or using other browsers won’t affect the monitoring feature.
Let’s computer administrators prevent users from accessing websites that contain unwanted content.
Normally, this module is used by parents to block inappropriate Web content from their children.

By clicking Settings in the Parental Control Module you can select from over 50 pre-defined categories. You
can also create your own whitelists and blacklists.
Application Control
This protection allows you to define permissions of the installed programs on your PC, shielding the PC in a
closed and secure environment. By default, this protection allows the execution of known secure
applications.
You can configure which programs are allowed to run on your computer and select the mode of action in
an attempt to run a new program (block directly or request confirmation). It is therefore the most effective
protection against zero-day threats and especially suitable for at risk devices such as those running
Windows XP or those that rarely install new applications.
This protection allows trusted applications to run.

Data Shield
Data Shield offers an extra layer of security against malware that tries to access sensitive user data for
malicious purposes (theft, delete or encrypt info). With the recent resurgence of ransomware such as
Cryptolocker this provides an extra layer of protection to stop your important documents being encrypted
and ransomed.

Data Shield allows the user to define the location of data protection and permissions to access them by
new programs. It also lets the user to set the mode of action: allowing or denying. By default, this
protection allows access to data by secured applications.
A well-known example of this type of malware is CryptoLocker. This ransomware encrypts user data and
demands a ransom for it. The malware encrypts the user data by using a different private key on each PC.
This key is stored only on the malware’s control servers, preventing data recovery even if the malware is
removed from the PC.

Wi-Fi Protection
This feature displays all the devices connected to your Wi-Fi network, regardless of the type of device (PC,
laptop, smartphone, tablet). This way, the user will be able to find out if there is an intruder on their
network.
- Wi-Fi auditing. Audits the Wi-Fi network searching for vulnerabilities, and provides
recommendations to improve network security. This analysis checks the following aspects:
o Network authentication and encryption.
o Computer-to-computer connections (ad hoc network).
o Connection mode.
o Network name in order to avoid common names.
o Signal strength.
o Channel saturation.
- Connection history. Find out which computers have connected to your network in the past, even
though they may not be currently connected to your home network. This, again, helps identify
possible intruders.
- Ability to identify computers with an alias.
- Ability to block unknown computers from accessing your computer.

My Products
Gives a summary of the products associated with your Panda Account, if you happen to have multiple
products this will allow you to check when any upcoming renewals are due.
Process Monitor
Here you can view which processes are running on your computer and get details of any accessing the
Network.
Viewing the full report will allow you to block any processes quarantining the file; this is a feature for
advanced users.
Rescue Kit
This is a PC recovery system, highly useful in the event of emergencies caused by malware infections. It lets
users create a rescue USB drive that will allow them to remove any virus blocking the system with Panda
Cloud Cleaner.

USB Protection
Prevents malware from being automatically run upon plugging a memory stick into the computer before it
has been scanned, USB Vaccine disables the autorun feature of PCs and USB devise.

Safe Browsing
Safe Browsing keeps an eye on your browsing automatically identifying suspicious or compromised
websites blocking them to stop you being infected or having your credentials stolen.
You can include exceptions to these rules the Settings section, creating lists of trusted and untrusted
websites (whitelists and blacklists).
Virtual keyboard
Displays a virtual keyboard on the screen, allowing users to type data using the mouse instead of pressing
the keys on the physical keyboard. This negates Keylogger malware which records users' keystrokes to log
sensitive information like credit card data. Therefore, the virtual keyboard allows you to safely enter
passwords, credit card numbers, etc. when you shop or bank online.
Additionally to stop “screen-scraping” malware or people viewing your screen you can employ “Additional
Mouse Cursors” and “Disable the Press Effect” to further obfuscate matters.

Online Backup
This module lets you make backup copies of files to the cloud to allow access elsewhere and also recover
them in the event of loss.
Panda Security have partnered with specialist provider Mozy to offer 2GB of online backup space for you.
Gaming / Multimedia Mode
When the use wants to run an application in full screen mode, Panda Internet Security 2016 allows users to
enable the Gaming / Multimedia mode manually from the menu displayed when clicking the tray bar icon.
This is to stop the product interrupting your activity.

Panda Mobile Security for Android™ Panda Mobile Security protects Android™ smartphones and tablets, and provides the following features:
Antivirus protection: Scans newly installed apps before they are first used and also on-demand. It
also scans memory card content.
Protection against downloaded threats: Scans apps and updates for threats and unwanted
applications without affecting device performance.
SD card scanning: Automatic scanning of SD (Secure Digital) cards to identify possible threats.
Privacy auditor: Scans and displays access permissions on apps installed.
Task Killer: Analyzes the consumption of the apps installed on the device, and reports on their size,
CPU consumption, and memory use, blocking them if necessary.
Motion Alert: Set an alarm so if your phone is moved a loud alarm will sound unless unlocked in
time.

Anti-Theft: The Anti-Theft module included in Panda Mobile Security provides the following
features:
o Device Locator. Lets you track and locate your devices from your Panda account.
o Remote lock. Lets you lock your device remotely with a PIN if lost or stolen.
o Remote wipe. Deletes all content on the device remotely, restoring it to its factory settings.
Theft Alert: Takes a photo using the front-facing camera after three failed attempts to input the
unlock code and emails it to you along with the device location
Using Anti-Theft

To use the Anti-Theft feature it must be activated within the product and you must have a Panda
account.
Note: The steps below may vary slightly depending on the type of Android installed on your device
1) Open by clicking the “Panda Mobile Security” icon in your Applications
2) Click the Panda head icon at the top of the screen then click Antitheft

Panda Antivirus for Mac offers Mac users complete protection against viruses and other Internet threats.
Mac users are vulnerable to infections just like PC users, and with the globalization of the Internet nobody
is safe from these threats.
Real-time protection. Panda Antivirus for Mac protects your Mac computer in real time against

The Panda Internet Security installer file on my USB stick is not working, or I am unable to find it, what should I do?

You can download the product from: http://www.pandasecurity.com/IS16 and run it to install the program. Then activate the product using the Panda activation code included on the packaging.
This file can then be copied to the USB for future use if required.

My activation code is not being accepted, why?

Please ensure you enter the activation code exactly as it appears below 6 characters then a hyphen and 8 numbers, with no spaces.
If this is still an issue then please contact us giving the activation code being used and any error messages being received.

When Panda Internet Security is on my PC it won’t connect to the Internet or receive emails, when I turn it off the connection is fine, what can I do?

This could be something to do with the firewall please try the following the steps to solve the problem:
1. Open the interface of your Panda product and click the "Firewall" option.
2. Click the “Settings” option
3. Under Program control Click the Restore button
4. Check the program which was unable to access the Internet has the correct communication settings (Allow inbound and outbound)
5. Click OK to leave the settings.

Why since installing Panda Internet Security on my PC is it significantly slower or sometimes freezes?
