Contextual advertising is a form of targeted advertising in which the content of an ad is in direct correlation to the content of the web page the user is viewing. For example, if you are visiting a website concerning travelling in Europe and see that an ad pops up offering a special price on a flight to Italy, that’s contextual advertising. Contextual advertising is also called “In-Text” advertising or “In-Context” technology

A code is added to a web page our system scans the text on the page searching for relevant words and phrases. The words and phrases are then matched against Hotwords` database of suitable advertisers

The selected advertising words are identified in green with double underlines. Once a user mouses-over the highlighted word, a clickable unit (called Alpha) will appear. The Alpha format contains an
advertiser message and gives the user the option to click through to the message in
the unit.
