Pressure controls for your industry
2O2TEST DESCRIPTION
LEVEL ONE ISO 2503 or ISO 7291
ASTM G175 Phase 1
Rapid O2 Pressurization - conditions are set that could produce a fire as a result of an adiabatic compression. Adiabatic compression results when there is a rapid increase in pressure which then causes a sudden increase in temperature. Products rated in this category pass this test at their maximum pressure ratings.
LEVEL TWOASTM G175 Phase 2
Promoted Ignition - conditions are set to intentionally feed an ignition pill, consisting of low oxygen tolerant particles, into the regulator to induce a fire. Products rated in this category pass this test when no breach of external pressure boundaries is produced at their maximum pressure ratings. This test adds an extra level of safety.
Don’t let this happen to you!The danger of Oxygen continues to be underestimated in applications across all industries. Component and system designs not considering the challenges of Oxygen as their controlled media can be costly, up to and including loss of life.
These systems may initially operate as expected, but unforeseen upstream component failures, or a temperature change or fluctuation can have devastating effects. An oxygen explosion not only shuts down your
system, but possesses the energy to destruct and propel parts of a once considered safe system assembly, risking injury and even death.
Other suppliers claim their products are Oxygen ready, but TESCOM™ offers products designed specifically for Oxygen service from atmospheric concentrations to 100% Oxygen.
Designed for the most severe Oxygen service!TESCOM products designed for Oxygen service meet today’s most stringent industry requirements. The active participation of TESCOM engineers in the ASTM G04 Committee for Oxygen Standards demonstrates our level of commitment to oxygen safety. That’s why we conduct an OHFRA (Oxygen Hazard & Fire Risk Assessment) for our entire line of Oxygen service products. And furthermore, we have created two levels of Oxygen safety standards to help inform you about choosing the right regulator or valve for your application needs.
TESCOM’s Oxygen Safety Standards
LEVEL ONE TESCOM products that meet EN ISO 2503 or EN ISO 729, ASTM G175 Phase 1.
LEVEL TWO TESCOM products meet the same ISO requirements as Level One plus the more stringent ASTM G175 Phase 2 stipulations.
TESCOM regulators and valves are tested at third-party testing facilities per the test standards mentioned below.

Considerations when designing a regulator for Oxygen ServiceNot all regulators or valves are created equal. After selecting the correct series (pressure, flow, venting/non-venting) the next step is to select the materials of construction. Regulators that are designed for Oxygen service require materials that are robust and high temperature resistant. The features and materials listed below are designed to offer safety and performance so you can feel confident you are making the right choice.
Load Types:Spring, Dome
& Air
Sensor Type: Diaphragm or
Piston (determined by control pressure & application
requirements)
Critical flow path materials: Stainless
Steel (Level One)Monel (Level Two)
Control pressures up to
6000 psig/ 415 bar
Flow Capacities
Sintered bronze metal filter (most
models)
Body Material: Brass, Monel
for robustness
Venting Options (certain models)
Soft goods of PTFE, PCTFE, 15%
Graphite Polymide and FKM
Design of flow path
