IoT’ersWeek2016:BeginningStartupScaleupAccelerationProgrammeStartup Scaleuphas recently finalised the selectionof the secondbatch of start-upsthatwill join their 6-month acceleration programme. To celebrate the beginning ofthis journey to acceleration, Startup Scaleup has organised IoT’ers Week, anopportunityforstart-upsontheprogrammetomeetandgothroughkeybusinessandtechnologyconcepts.IoT’ers Week began Monday 20th June in the hubs of Vilnius, Lithuania, andZoetermeer, the Netherlands, and onMonday 27th June it will begin in the hubs ofDublinandMadrid.Following the IoT’ersWeek, start-upswill go back to their hubs and get started ontheir 6-month accelerationprogramme,where theywill receive regularmentorshipfrom prominent leaders and entrepreneurs, attend amix of events and be grantedresourcesandfacilitiesbothonlineandattheStartupScaleuphubs.The selection process for the Startup Scaleup acceleration programme was openbetween 4th April and 13th May 2016, and saw the participation of about 370applicants, over twice the amount received for the first batch. This year Spaintakes the leadwith thehighest numberof applications, over90, almost tripling thenextoneinline,Lithuania,with36applications.ThemostpopularverticalsinvolvedwereHomeandHealth,sameaslastyear.The greatest number of applicants is in the prototype stage (143), some havecustomers(94),othershavedevelopedproducts(86),and,veryfew(3)havealarge-scaleproduction.On average, the start-ups that have applied to our acceleration programme arefoundedbybetween2and4people.

Fromtheapplicationsreceivedwecanalsoseethattherevenuegeneratedbymostofthosestart-ups(85)uptonowamountsto€1,000,whileabout40havealreadyraisedbetween€1,000and€50,000.
