Olympic torch
• 8000 people( from the ages of 8-80) carry the Olympic torch from Athens to London.
• Each person carries it 1 mile then they pass it to the next person.
• Our Olympic torch is gold and has the 2012 logo for the Olympics.

Olympic stadium
• The capacity of the stadium 80,000 whilst the games are on
• It is the lightest Olympic stadium ever built
• Part of the supporting structure of the roof is formed from 2,500 tonnes of steel tubing that was actually recycled from old gas pipelines
Gold ,Silver, Bronze
• On each event the winner gets gold.
• Second place gets silver
• Third place gets bronze

• 2000 Sydney -- Olly, a kookaburra, Syd, a platypus and Millie, an echidna
2004 Mascots
• 2004 Athens -- Athena and Phevos, two dolls from an ancient archeological site in Greece
2008 mascots
• 2008 Beijing -- The Fuwa, "Good luck dolls" Beibei, Jingjing, Huanhuan, Yingying, and Nini
2012 mascots
• 2012 London -- Wenlock and Mandeville, two... we don't know
• The Olympics start on the 27th July• Paralympics start on the 29th August• 205 nations are taking place• 300 events are in the 2012 Olympics
• The United States have won more medals (2,189) in the summer Olympics than any other country
• Host Greece won the most medals (47) at the first Olympic Summer Games in 1896
