ONCE UPON A TIME...
In 1810, Crown Prince Ludwig married Princess Therese. To celebrate they invited all of Munich's citizens to a festival in front of the city
gates, deemed the Theresienwiese – Therese's fields – in honor of the Princess. The event ended with a horse race that was met with such
success, they decided to bring it back the following year; enter Oktoberfest.

HOW TO GET THERE?
The closest stops are Theresienwiese on the U4 or U5 lines and Goethe-platz on the U3 or U6 lines. Be careful if you're claustrophobic – they can be very crowded!
The closest stop is Hacker-brücke, accessible by lines S1 through S8. It's about a 10 minute walk from there – it's a popular route, so just follow the sea of people.
Take lines 16 or 17 to Hackerbrücke and follow all the people leaving the S-Bahn. Or take lines 18 or 19 to Holzapfelstraße or Hermann-Lingg-Straße.

with crispy onions on top.

Kaiserschmarrn: Pancake bits with raisins and pow-
dered sugar!
Take it slow, each one is equivalent to two standard beers.
Don't get 'hangry', make sure to order a side of fries, or "pommes". They come separately!
Just don't leave without trying the iconic duo – a beer and a pretzel!

*You may notice some wearing the bow at the center-back, unfortunately that's the sign of having lost a partner.
