Oiche Shamhna ag teacht agus na daltai ag súil le sos. Tá alan oibre déanta acu ó mhí Lúnasa agus an sos tuillte go maith ag gach éinne. We have had a very busy couple of weeks since we started back on the 28th. of August. Our new Junior Infants are well settled in at this stage and seem to be loving the early days of primary school life. Our sporting he-roes have had a successful term. Both boys and girls have been winners on the GAA fields. Girls success-ful in the Loreto/Colman’s Blitz, Sciath na Scol and INTO mini 7’s. Our boys won the North Cork A2 competition in Mallow recently. Well done to na buachaillí agus cailíní agus of course team mentors Siobhán agus Tomás.
Halloween can be a dangerous period and we urge parents
to be vigilant. Be careful around bonfires. Make sure that
children are supervised at all times and warn them of the
potential dangers at Halloween. The National Road Safety
Authority have also asked us to point out to parents to
drive with care on our roads and ensure that children are
always wearing safety belts while travelling in the car no
matter how short the journey is.
We still have no definite news about our site for our new
school. I would like to thank the ongoing work of our
Bórd Bainistíochta and Action group. I urge you to take
part. in the ongoing campaign. There is still some way to
go and the campaign goes on. Do not believe what is
printed in papers it is not always 100% correct. We need
the horses out and the pupils in asap!!!

It’s Halloween night, it may
cause a fright,
There are ghosts

Then there are bats that scare

Evil pumpkins run about, if you
see them you will shout
Wicked witches on their brooms
causing doom,
Throw the fireworks in the air

Chuaigh Naíonáin Mhóra ar siúlóid dúlra. Bhí na páistí gnóthach ag bailiú duilleoga. Thug na
páistí na duilleoga ar ais ar scoil agus bhíomar ag féachaint ar na dathanna difriúla a bhí orthu.
Bhain na páistí taitneamh as an siúlóíd. Senior Infants enjoying their recent Nature Walk.
Rang a Dó Lauren + Marian
Bhí ám iontach again ó a thánamar ar ais ar scoil!! We have learnt a lot of fun things since we
came back to school this year. We have started tin whistle with our new teacher which is so much
fun. We also learned a song about Christopher Columbus and leant all about him and his voyage
to America! Coming up to Halloween we learnt about the different bones in our bodies, this
made us understand the skeleton better! Learning about the continent of Australia was so interest-
ing. I especially loved looking at the pictures of the cute koalas and kangaroos. We are so busy
already preparing for our First Confession and our First Holy Communion. We are so excited for
them!

Iontaisí an Domhain/Wonders of theWorld.
I mí Meán Fomhair, rinneamar tionscnamh ar na “Wonders of the World”! Rinne
gach duine ceann difriúil. Samplaí ná an Great Pyramid of Giza, Statue of Liberty,
Empire State Building, Chichen Itza, Collosseum, Pompeii agus Niagara Falls. Tá
alán pictiúrí agus firicí againn! Táimíd thar a bheith sásta leo agus tá an múinteoir
sona sásta leo freisin! Déanta ag Lisa agus Olivia H Ní B, Rang 4

Fear Dóiteáin ar scoil Tháinig Fear Dóiteán d’arb ainm Mike ar chuairt chuig rang a trí ar
an deichiú lá de mhí Deireadh Fómhair. Maidin Dé hAoine a bhí
ann. Bhí sé ag caint linn faoi conas a bheith sábháilte maidir le tine.
Caithfimid bheith cúramach leis na rudaí seo a leanas timpeall an tí-
coinnle, toitíní, an oighean agus plocóid. Thug sé comhairle fíor-
thábhachtach dúinn. Ba cheart dúinn gach rud a mhúchadh gach
oíche (ach amháin an cuisneoir agus an reoiteoir!)
Bhí an fear dóiteáin an-shuimiúil agus d’fhreagair sé gach ceist a bhí
againn. Fuaireamar suirbhé tábhachtach uaidh ag baint le
sábháilteacht sa bhaile. Thógamar abhaile iad chun iad a líonadh
amach lenár dtuismitheoirí. Bhaineamar sult as ár gcuairteoir.
Mike the Fireman visited third class on the tenth of October. He was
talking to us about fire safety. We must always be cautious of can-
dles, cigarettes, the oven and plugs. He advised us to always plug
everything out at night time (except the fridge and the freezer!) He
was extremely interesting and he answered all of our questions. We
were given an important survey which we took home to complete
with our parents. We really enjoyed our visitor in our class!
