Chocotech GmbH acquiresYPP of England Chocotech GmbH, part of the Sol-lich Group, has announced theacquisition of the entire confec-tionery business of YPP from theirformer owner MFH. YPP is bestknown for its continuous caramelcooker, commonly known as theYPP Yorkshire Caramel Cooker.

Chocotech will provide spare partsas well as mechanical and electricalservice for existing YPP customers.

Chocotech is represented in NorthAmerica by DD&D Machinery, Inc.,which has recently appointed J Hol-land Corporation as exclusive repre-sentative for the Chocotech CandyDivision (which now includes the YPPequipment). J Holland Corporationhas represented YPP in North Americafor the last 10 years and was responsi-ble for introducing this equipmentinto the North American marketplace.DD&D Machinery, Inc., in associa-tion with J Holland Corporation, willprovide planning, sales and service forthe complete range of Chocotechcandy division equipment.

ADM to merge withMinnesota Corn ProcessorsMinnesota Corn Processors (MCP)has signed a merger agreement withArcher Daniels Midland (ADM).

The transaction will be accom-plished by MCP merging with a sub-sidiary of ADM.

The transaction remains subject toa number of conditions, includingapproval from MCP shareholdersand appropriate regulatory agencies.

Heat and Control names BarrHeat and Control, Inc., has namedBrian Barr sales manager of thepackaging systems division. He willmanage sales and market develop-ment of Ishida multihead weighersand checkweighers.

Danisco name changeAs a result of the transformation inthe company, Danisco Cultor hasnow become Danisco USA. All com-panies and divisions now comeunder the same corporate umbrella.

Warrell names winners of sales contest

The Warrell Corporation hasannounced the winners of its recentspring/summer sales contest for theMelster and Katharine Beecher prod-uct line.

The grand prize, a trip to LasVegas for two and $1,000 spendingmoney, was awarded to Harold W.

Young, Inc., of Natick, Massachu-setts, USA. Second prize, $1,500cash, was awarded to JEM Manufac-turer’s Representative of Minneapo-lis, Minnesota, USA. Third prize,$1,000 cash, was awarded toShankman and Associates of Solon,Ohio, USA.
