INTRODUCTION
The healthcare industry in India is advancing and
reshaping to greater heights, both in growth &
dimensions for optimizing the quality of care. Nurses
play a key role in taking care of the medical needs of
patients.
The students of today’s era are born in a totally
digital world. Updated and innovative teaching
methods are becoming mandatory with efforts to
engage Millennial and Generation Z nursing
students. With enormous advances in medicine and
technology, it is crucial to reform the existing under
graduate and postgraduate nursing curriculum to
make it relevant to the requirements of current health
care system.
Health care sector demands highly competent nurses
who are authorized to function independently and
collaboratively for an extended clinical role. By
recognizing the need of specialist nurses in the
Country, the Government of India has set-forth path
breaking competency based Nurse Practitioner
Programmes.
The roles and responsibilities of nurses are
transforming with developments in medical sciences,
policy regulations, health care priorities and emerging
advances in nursing and scientific research. There are
numerous careers and opportunities available in the
nursing and health care field one of which is nursing
entrepreneurship. In India the concept of
entrepreneurship is yet to receive its popularity, while
in western countries nurse entrepreneurs are well
established with their innovations to support
healthcare industry.
