Teaching note:The point is to examine how we could adopt even more authentic authorship in our own life.Three stories (Mr.K, Brian Tracy, Elizabeth Gilbert) help us to appreciate the diversity of stories. Those stories also show how positive story can give us strength and determination. This story perspective requires that we start to reflect our own thinking. That reflection helps us to see how thoughts raise in our mind and how we are not the same as our thoughts. Also this is an excellent moment to pause to think how creativity is present in our everyday life, what are moments of creativity and how they emerge. The more intensive workshop phase in this session focuses on examination of stories and how those stories have developed in time. The participants are asked to pick up a story which is most relevant to them and then examine what was the essence of the story 2009, what it is now and what it will be 2015.The participants are free to choose how they portray the essence of the story. It can be a freehand drawing which may for instance highlight the key elements or key players and their positions at certain time. Or perhaps some keywords are the way to capture the essence of the story. Also participants are asked to analyze more than one story development, perhaps first the focus is on company/corporate level (2009,2012,2015), then profit unit/department/team level and finally we should focus on everyone’s own story.Always to focus is to think how participants are part of these stories and how they might developeven more active role in creating beneficial stories.
