INTRODUCTION:-
• Mobile computing is a generic term describing your ability to use technology to wirelessly connect to and use centrally located information.
Existing Cellular Network architecture
• Mobile telephony took
off with the introduction
of cellular technology
which allowed the efficient
utilisation of frequencies
enabling the connection
of a large number of users.
F
• Circuit switching
• Packet switching
CDPD TECHNOLOGY:-
• Today, the mobile data
communications market
is becoming dominated by
a technology called CDPD.
• CDPD's principle lies in the usage of the idle time in between existing voice signals that are being sent across the cellular networks.
The hierarchy consists of the following levels : -
1.Mobile end user
interface:
• The mobile end user
can transmit both
data & voice signals
2.Mobile Data Base Station(MDBS)
• MDBS is responsible for
detection of Idle time in
voice channels.
• Connected to
the mobile end user.
3.Mobile Data Intermediate Systems(MDIS)
• These MDIS use a Mobile
Network Location Protocol
(MNLP) to exchange
location information
about Mobile end users
within their domain.
• MDBS is connected to the
MDIS.
Eg:-
4.INTERMEDISTE SYSTEM
• MDIS are interconnected to
these IS which form the
backbone of the
CDPD system.
Eg:-
CPCD NETWORK
CDPD NETWORK RELIABILITY:-
• User authentication
• User anonymity
• Fraud prevention
• Protection of user data
APPILICATIONS:-
• For estate agents
• Emergency services
Police Incident Information
Screen
• Credit card verification
• Taxi/Truck dispatch
• Electronic mail/paging
LIMITATIONS:-
• Power consumption
• Transmission interfaces
• Human interface with device
• Potential health hazards
FUTURE OF MOBILE COMPUTING:-
• Mobile computing field is rapidly growing day by day. And the technologies used in mobile computing is increasing rapidly. In future we will see many amazing products of mobile computing technology
HUMAN SENCES IN COMPUTERS
CONCLUSION:-
• Being an ever growing and emerging technology, mobile computing will continue to be a core service in computing and Information Communication and Technology.
