Heads Up! What to Prepare:Download and take a look at the music files on the MRD website

(https://www.jmu.edu/mrd/camp-mailing.shtml). Music does not need to

be memorized before camp, but it doesn’t hurt to get a head start! Once

we all arrive on the 19th, we will have a small music audition featuring

excerpts from our season music. This is nothing to sweat about - it just

helps us determine marching spots for the season! We will also host a

short marching audition during band camp. Again, nothing to worry

about, we will review marching techniques before this!

Pack Your Bags! What to Bring: Your Saxophone (You’ll definitely need this one!)

Plenty of Reeds (The more, the better!)

SUNSCREEN! (You don’t want a neck strap tan, trust us!)

A Reusable Water Bottle (Save the turles sksksksk)

Some Kind of Hat and Sunglasses (Protect yo’ self!)

Exercise Clothes and Comfy Sneakers (can’t march in birks smh)

Dinkles/Black Marching Shoes (can’t perform in birks either :((

Khaki Shorts (What are you wearing, ‘Jake from State Farm?’)

A Binder for Music (This will help keep everything in place!)

A Foldable Stand (if you already have one)

Plenty of Excitement (GET HYYPPE)

Join the Facebook Group! If you haven’t already, join the 2020 JMU MRD Saxophones facebook group. This is where we will post updates leading up to band camp. It is also our main form of communication during the season!
