Motivation Letter

Hi, my name is Viktor Osetrov. I was born in Mari El – this is the biggest Finno-Ugrian

national republic in Russia. I’m 25 years old and 2 years ago I founded RealSpeaker Lab

company. Our company develops the new audio visual speech recognition application

RealSpeaker.

Today most audio speech recognition solutions have severe limitations, such as:

sensitively to background noises; difficulties’recognizing individual words; users must

speak in an un-natural fashion using fragmented speech; they required broadband Internet

connectivity; and with an accuracy of less than 60%, not saying that they are painful to

use. In comparison with modern audio processing products, we using additional video

information, which allows us to improve voice recognition accuracy by at least 20-30 per

cent. This makes our patent pending technology way ahead of existing competitions.

RealSpeaker addresses the problem by enhancing the speech recognition with video

analysis of the user’s lip movements. With RealSpeaker you can: enter text of any length

with the voice and video without keyboard at any text editor or website (Notes,

Facebook, Skype, Evernote, E-mail and Microsoft Office etc.); Support of 13 main

languages; Some functions of voice navigation (editing and sending).

Today we have released beta version of our product for Windows OS, which is currently

in use by about 50k users, out of which 2k users are paid users. In last couple of months

we have become cash flow positive. We have good traction but our main customers based

in Russia, Ukraine or other countries because we start sales our solution for Russian

speaking market.

In this summer, we would like to launch version RealSpeaker for English speaking

market, because it’s very perspectives direction for us. According to TechNavio

currently, only 15-20% of the speech recognition market potential is used. The total

expenses on speech recognition technologies developing in the world in 2010 were

estimated at $1000M and in 2010 the speech recognition market will reach the point of

$2500M (+25% per year) in 2016. Our head mission is doing people-machine interaction

more easy and safety.

We exists almost 2 years and have a team of 10 people. We’d like to find good sales

manager and receive useful knowledge for global development of our company. And we

are going to start our global expansion by the means of Startup Sauna’s Spring’14

program. Our technology supported by 13 languages (Russian, English, French, German,

Chinese and others). We are not agree with sales our solution for only Russian speaking

market today. We’d like to create global corporation in speech recognition sphere with

competitive advantages:

- High accuracy speech recognition

- More safety

- More usability and cheaper

Right now, we are looking for partners as well as investors for our round "A" which will

be used to further R&D and marketing.
