English, Science and History
Meet with department staff at beginning of school year
Gain access to curriculum and unit plans
Have teachers commit to at least one assignment which requires library research
Create and distribute pathfinders in both print and digital formats
Job Fair
Representatives from local schools (trade, community, universities), businesses, community organizations (fire & police departments, hospitals), military
Held during first-semester in the library Promoted using posters, loudspeaker
announcement, marquee, school website, newsletter, Facebook event
Feedback from representatives on student interest
Math
Collaborate with math teachers in evaluation process In class discussion with students after job fair Hand out surveys
Assign math classes to visit job fair during the last 35 minutes of class Ensuring every student has opportunity to go
Art
Collaborate with teachers on creating a poster contest promoting the library
Display student art in library
Physical Education
PE teachers have made a commitment to Silent reading/studying 20 Minutes Fridays In library
TV Production/Technology
Students create commercials and videos promoting the library and events
It will be aired on classroom televisions
Expectations and Evaluations
We hope that by involving each department in library activities, each teacher will become an advocate for our library
Communication will be kept open with all staff
We will be relying on teachers and staff to let us know what is working and what needs to be changed
