High Risk Rural Road Program (HRRR)
• The mission of the HR3 is to carry out safety improvement projects on rural roads, with identified safety issues, to achieve a significant reduction in traffic fatalities and serious injuries
• The program budget is about 1 million per year
A High Risk Rural Road is…
Functionally classified as a rural major or minor collector or a rural local road:
• Where the accident rate for fatalities and incapacitating injuries exceeds the statewide average
• Increases in traffic volume are likely to create an accident rate for fatalities and incapacitating injuries that exceeds the statewide average

Historic Covered BridgesHistoric Covered Bridges
• Provides for the rehabilitation, repair, or preservation of covered bridges that are listed or eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places
• Projects must preserve the bridge• Replace wood components with wood
unless safety issue
