Dear Judson ISD Team ,
I hope that my message finds you well and you enjoyed the weekend's pleasant weather before this change. Fall weather has arrived as we embrace the uniqueness that it brings.
Last week was such an amazing week. A saying I like to often share is "Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.? Last week while reflecting on the week in JISD and learning from those experiences, I was given two huge surprises that meant so very much to me. On Tuesday, after a very long day of meetings, I came back to my office to find a gorgeous mum! Turns out, three young ladies from Judson High School's FFA chapter made me the mum. (bottom photo). The thought that these students took the time to make me the mum and bring it to me, meant the world to me. They had no idea how special their act of kindness was to me. Then on Friday, I was asked to step out of a meeting briefly and was shocked to find Wagner High School had brought me a mum for their homecoming game (top photo).
Some might wonder what 's the big deal about a mum. There is a story behind it. As a high school girl, I was not popular or involved in activities and was basically an outsider watching friends getting mums and enjoying the high school experience. While at that time I would've never admitted a longing for acceptance and being part of a group or club, the truth is, being outside that inclusion circle was not easy. So fast forwarding to today, these mums are so special to me because they are from the people that I want to help the most, students. They need to feel someone is on their team, giving them confidence to knowing the sky is the limit. The individuals that gave me the mums will truly never know just how special and how much I appreciate their act of kindness. I truly appreciate that they took the time to put a smile on my face. This week I want to work extra hard to do that for others. So I ask you to join me in doing something kind for someone else. A single act of kindness can change everything.

THOUGHTS FROM DR. BALL Jeanet t e Bal l , Ph.D.
Dr. Ball stopped by to say thank you to the Wagner Dance Team who gave her a Homecoming Mum for the big game.
It was also Judson's Homecoming. On her way into Rutledge, Dr. Ball snapped a photo with her mum creators Hannah Berry, Mckenna Mosmeyer, and Regan Frederick.
Curr iculum NightThese students and parents at Hopkins Elementary had a ball working with their kids on these curriculum related "make and take" projects. The evening included a PTO meeting, a 1st grade performance and just some fun learning games that everyone seemed to enjoy.
