NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Welcome back everyone. I hope that everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing break and are ready for a busy last term ahead.
This week we are beginning our whole school Inquiry on the history of Com-mercial Road Primary School. This Thursday and Friday all students will be in-volved in a whole school ‘Tuning In’ session. Students will be mixed into multi-age groups and rotate through nine activities that will focus on the history of Commercial Road Primary. On Friday afternoon students in grades 3 to 6 will have the opportunity to then choose an area of interest that they would like to research and action for our school celebration day on Tuesday 22nd November from 2pm to 6pm. All students in grades Prep to Two will work on shared in-quiry.
If you have any photos and/ or artefacts that could be used in our Inquiry please let office staff know. We would also love to have any older Commercial Road students come and share what school life was like when they attended school. If you know of anyone who would be interested in sharing their story please have them contact our office staff.
Morwell Central Primary Interim School Council Meeting
Next Wednesday 12th October is our next Interim School Council Meeting. The meeting will be held at Morwell Bowling Club at 5:30pm. Please advise office staff if you are unable to attend. Tea will be provided.
Footy Colours Day
A myriad of colours could be seen around Commercial Road Primary School when a special day was held where the students and staff could come dressed in the colours of their favourite sport team.
The day was organised by the Junior School Council and the school’s House Captains. Some of the activities they ran for the students were Dodgeball, Pony Express, Pirate Ship, Playground Obstacle Challenge, Egg and Spoon Race, Cup and Bucket Relay, Tug of War and Obstacle Bootball.
To finish off the day, the whole school enjoyed singing along to the AFL team
songs.
