CASE STUDY: VICTORIAN HEART HOSPITAL
CASE STUDY: MONASH LAW CLINICS
Australia’s first dedicated heart health and research hospital – the $543 million Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH) – combines the best in research and teaching with talented cardiac specialists in the centre of Australia’s best biomedical faculties and businesses.
Because of its location within this precinct, the VHH is purpose-built to advance the ‘lab-side to bed-side’ pipeline – growing industry and advancing the world’s health. How? Researchers, clinicians and industry collaborate and translate cutting-edge research into action by developing devices, procedures and services that could transform the way we protect heart health.
Providing access to justice for thousands of Victorians in need the Monash Law Clinics in Clayton and the Melbourne CBD assist vulnerable members of our community, while educating our students in practical, ethical and professional legal practice.
Through the clinics, members of the community can obtain free legal advice on a variety of legal matters. This program is substantially run by students under the supervision of solicitors employed by Monash Law School and volunteers from the legal industry who also offer free legal advice.

Monash University recognised early on that without changing the way things are done, our environment will suffer irreversible damage.
We committed to create the change we want to see, taking climate action and leading the world with our research and study programs.
No other university has made the commitments we have to sustainability.
We have major energy-efficiency measures in our buildings. We’re moving away from gas to electrifying our campus, addressing our residual emissions through offsetting, deployment of on-site and off-site renewable energy, and a sustainable microgrid.
The Monash MicrogridWe’re building an on-site microgrid at the university campus in the precinct.
Our microgrid will be versatile enough to receive and store energy from various renewable energy sources.
We’ll be able to control when and how to use our energy, which means we can reduce demand and strain on the network during peak times.
The Grid Innovation Hub at Monash University is fostering partnerships between industry, government and our world-leading researchers.
FOCUSED ONSUSTAINABILITYBY 2030, WE’LL ACHIEVE NET ZERO CARBON EMISSIONS UNDER OUR NET ZERO PROGRAM.
