Introduction & Philosophy of Nursing
The word “Nursing” draws its essence from the Noble mission initiated by “FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE” who set forth the
path for the professional needs. The necessity of educated trained professionals who could be competent enough to handle
and take care of the sick and ailing members of the society. The aim of the mission is to train nursing professionals with high
standards and spirit of devotion and human touch. A sick person is more than 50% cured if he or she is handled with
responsive care.
The Nursing is a science and art, which requires a sound scientific education. Besides this, nursing is a service to
humanity, is devoted as it helps curing the patients by applying scientific knowledge and skill during their studies.
A Professional nurse is a graduate of a recognized Nursing College, who has registered with State Nursing Council,
which is a licence to practice.
Nursing is a systematic deliberate process directed towards assisting individuals and groups in promoting
maintaining and restoring maximum health potential and supporting the dignity of the individual in life. This process is
based upon the combination of scientific knowledge and skills that consists of action that is independent but co-
ordinated with other health care programmes.
Concept of Nursing is based on Indian Nursing Council's definition “the unique function of the Nurse, which is to
assist the individual, sick or well, in the performance of those activities contributing to health or its recovery”.
The staff of Nursing college believe that the basic course in Nursing must necessarily be laid on sound medical &
scientific foundations. Further the faculty of nursing college believes :
(a) That learning occurs not only in classroom, but in the peer groups and through participation in a wide variety of
extra-curricular activities in different fields.
(b) That Nursing is a profession, which influenced by advances in Science and Technology.
(c) That skills in all aspects of communication is essential for learning and for the practice of nursing.

The name of the Governing Society of the College is "Sai Shraddha Human Resources Development Society" it is non
profit and Non Government Voluntary Organization located at C-23, Basant Vihar, Gwalior, M.P. It is registered as a
registered society under the M.P. Society Registration Act, 1973. The main objects of the society are established and run
the hospitals, health education colleges, Nursing Colleges and other technical and professional institutions in various
sector of the education in the society. The main aims of this society are to promote rural and slum section of the society
and participatory development process in rural and urban areas along with maintaining transparency and
professionalism with an eye for better performance and social accountability. The aims and objectives of the society in
education field are :
1. To create awareness for education in slum, poor part of the society.
2. To establish and promote high quality, Technical, Professional, Health, Environmental, Nursing Courses and other
education and research centre with best technology, faculty and equipments.
3. To provide an environment for a effective interaction with society to serve the society.

"Sai Shraddha Nursing College" Pawansut Colony, Hurawali Tiraha, Morar-Gwalior, M.P. instituted at the time when
there is an actual need to have quality Nursing Education and improvement in Health Care System in the state of M.P. The
college has its own building. The institute provide insight and knowledge to improve student's personality. We provide
the conceptual knowledge through highly qualified and experienced staff, rich and updated library and practical

B.Sc. Nursing subjects are mainly based on practical covered under syllabus and its performance in Hospitals and
Laboratories. In view of this, the institute has provided all the required laboratories equipped with modern equipments
and instruments for various subjects of Nursing Courses. These laboratories are designed in such a manner that it
provides better working environment and safety. At present the following laboratories are available in the college :
A well equipped library is one of the pillar of a progressive forward looking education system. The spacious library of
this institution affords a rich reference section of necessary books to fullfill the needs of the students joining the
professional program. Its readily multiplying collection is poised to transform it into and extensive and in depth treasure
of books and journals of Nursing Course. The library also subscribes Nos. of news papers and other documents material
for the students to develop their awareness about national and international affairs and get insight of the modern
nursing Science Practices with the latest journals of Nursing.
Membership of the college library is compulsory for all the students. The student having identity card are only entitled
to draw books from the library. Maximum three books are allowed to be borrowed for a period of seven days. If book is lost
or damaged in any way it shall be replace by the borrower, Books issued in one's name will not be transferred in any other
student's name.
1. The fine of Rs. 10/- per day will be charged for each book kept for more than prescribed time.
2. The books lost or damaged in any way shall be replaced by the borrower otherwise he/she will be liable to pay
current price of the book plus Rs. 50/- as procurement charges.
3. Reference books marked with symbol 'R' will not be issued to the students. The students in the library study
room without disturbing others can consult these books.
4. Same book will not be re-issued.

The hostel facility is also available with suitable accommodation for boys and girls separately. The rooms are well
furnished to make the stay of inmates for learning community living and facilitating out of class discussions on
assignments. The inmates of the hostel get invigorating environment for constant interaction among themselves leading
to their personality development all basic facilities are available in hostel.
All the student are provided medical facilities free of charge. They have to pay for investigational charges and the cost
of the medicines.
Various sports facilities in institute campus are developed and keeping in view to providing the extra curricular
activities a boost to personality development. The facilities for various indoor games like Carom, Chess, Badminton etc.,
and out door games like Hockey, Volleyball, Football, Cricket, Athletics etc., are provided in campus/playground.
The institute having the State Govt. permission for clinical practical in Govt. Hospitals of the Gwalior as well as rural
and urban area.
The B.Sc. Nursing course has been divided into Four years. Regular Classes will be held after the admission to the
course. In the first year, the students will undergo teaching block from July to October after the completion of teaching
block each student will have to go, to the clinical field of the hospital, Second, third and fourth year student will have
their clinical field practice from 8:00 A.M. to 2.00 P.M. during this period, each student will have to submit bed side clinic
report including Nursing problem, case presentation, health education and case study including basic nursing care &
have to maintain daily diary of every day assignment in the direction of clinical instructor and Head Nurse of the Concern
Hospital.

Regular classes will start from 15th of July 2007. Each academic session shall commence from July to June. MEDIUM

(a) The minimum educational qualification for admission in B.Sc. Nursing shall be 10+2 CBSE or State Govt.
curriculum with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English or any other examination equivalent to 10+2 from a
recognized examination board.
(b) The minimum requirement of marks for admission will be 50% aggregate in 10+2 examination.
(c) Age shall be minimum 17 years as on or before 31st dec. of the year of admission.
The selection of the candidates shall be based on the entrance examination and personal interview conducted by the
committee.
A merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks secured by the candidate in the entrance test and interview. The
decision of the selection committee shall be final. The entrance test and interview of the candidates for admission will
be held in the college on 25th June 2007.

at the time of admission.
* Each student in addition to above fee, will have to deposit Rs. 10,000/- as security amount at the time of
admission, which will be refunded after graduation and therefore one year service in any hospital selected by the
college otherwise same amount will be forfeited.
All the original educational qualification certificates and Registration fees Rs. 10,000/- will be deposited at the time of
submission of application from. Admission will be done on the merit basis the registration fees of the admitted student will
be adjusted in the fees. Registration fees of the student who is not eligible for the admission will be given back within 15
days of declaration of merit list.
Registration fees of selected candidate who does not report to college within 15 days of declaration of merit list will
not be refunded.
The charges for training in related institutions like J. A. Group of Hospital and Medical College, Gwalior, Mental
Hospital, Gwalior, Health Centers (rural/urban) Gwalior etc. Will be borne by the candidate themselves as per govt. rules.
Student shall be required to attend a regular course of study. Candidates should have to attend at least 75% of the
total number of lectures delivered and practical done in each subject and 85% attendance in clinical experience is needed
during each academic year. The procedure of examination will be in the form of terminals, half-yearly, Pre-University
followed by the University examination every year as per instructions of the concerned university.
University examination fee to be paid separately at the time of filling examination forms.

1. Every student admitted to the B.Sc. Nursing course shall have to follow rules and regulations of the College.

3. In case of illness, permission shall have to be obtained from the principal to remain absent from studies in
written.
4. Rules and regulations of the hostel shall have to be followed and order of the warden will have to be adhered.
5. Every student shall have to remain in the hostel. Staying outside the hostel will not be allowed. Parents or
guardians of the students moay appoint any body as local guardian if so desired. In case of appointment of local
guardian, the entire personal data along with the photograph of local guardian will have to be submitted. On the
request of local guardian, if a student is allowed to go out of the hostel, the responsibility will be of the parents
who have appointed the local guardian.
6. The local guardian can see their ward on Sunday only. In case of emergency, permission shall have to be obtained
from the warden.
7. The students will be allowed to go for shopping once in a month or a holiday.
8. All student shall have to follow rules and regulations of the college and hostel. No student will be provided any
extra facilities.
9. Ragging in any form is Prohibited.
10. Original certificates will be returned at the time of leaving the college.
At the time of admission to the said course, candidates will have to pay the prescribed fee to get herself/himself
enrolled with the Jiwaji University Gwalior and submit all certificates as required by the University from time to time and
automatically a student become a member of Students Nurses Association of India.
Selected candidates will have to execute an agreement bond under appropriate stamp paper duly certified by the
Court / Notary to serve the Sai Shraddha Nursing College or any other hospital at or outside Gwalior as directed by the
management for a minimum period of one year after successful completion of the course, or else he/she will have to pay
Rs. 10,000/- as penalty and in addition to this entire security money will be forfeited. Any student who leaves the college
in between, the security deposit of Rs. 10,000/- will be forfeited.
All the students will have to abide strictly by the rules and regulations of the college and hostel during their studies.
Any violation will be strictly dealt with enforced from time to time. The Principal reserves the right to rusticate students
found indulging in acts prejudicial to the interest of the institute or involved in gross indiscipline or immoral act etc.

The candidate admitted for studies are bound to wear the uniform Prescribed by the institution. Presently the
uniform includes Sky Blue Kurta and White Salwar for the girls and Sky Blue Trouser with White Shirt for boys with apron,
white stocking and Black Shoes. If necessary the uniform can be changed by the college management at any time.
In case of any dispute decision of the Principal will be final and binding and if necessary in any case the territorial
jurisdiction for suing shall be limited to Gwalior only.
Once a week students will be involved in social work for two hours according to the instructions of the principal,
Nursing College or Management Committee.
Students of Nursing will be provided knowledge and training in basic computer programming so as to enable them in
handling the scientific data of research in the clinical field.
