ART DECO BLACK LACQUER CABINET
A quality Art Deco cabinet with ivory handles. Sycamore interior with half fronted drawers. Four lacquered drawers and lacquered doors to internal compartment with boxwood, walnut and tulip marquetry to the inner surface. Adjustable glass shelf. Two draw leaf shelves. ART DECO CABINET by PAUL FOLLOT
A fine Art Deco cabinet in amboyna and mahogany veneers. Ivory handles, feet and inlays. Designed and stamped in top two drawers by the leading French designer Paul Follot (not all of Follot's work is stamped). 10 drawers.Follot was a student of Eugene Grasset, joining the Maison Moderne in 1901 where he met Maurice Dufrene. He was one of the few French designers to make the transition from Art Nouveau to Art Deco and at the 1925 Paris Exposition des Arts Decoratifs, Follot designed the antechamber of the French Embassy, the interior of the Pomone Pavilion and the textiles section in the Grand Palais. Follot's work is held in the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, Paris. Ref: Art Deco by Victor Arwas (Academy Editions). c.1925
