OIC / Electoral Assistant – Electoral Commission Queensland – Contract Work

Managed a small team handling the organisation and distribution of all materials and equipment required for the Gold Coast City Council election and state referendum.

Officer in charge of a large polling booth managing a team of 10 staff on the election day.

Graduate Mechanical Engineer – Ezi-Roll Doors Australia – Full Time

Working as part of the engineering management team, my main areas of focus were:

Installation and commissioning of manufacturing machinery for new product lines, parts procure-ment and organisation for preventative maintenance, and breakdown repairs.

Technical sales support compliant with Australian Standards, including writing technical bulletins, detailed installation manuals, and site specific CAD drawings.

Working with the Research and Development team on improving the existing product line, and designing a new product line using 2D and 3D CAD software in conjunction with 3D printing techniques.

INDUSTRIAL PLACEMENT

March 2014 – June 2014 (4 months)

Four-month placement working with the Gold Coast University Hospital’s Thoracic Surgery Department.

Worked with the thoracic surgery department on a research and development project to design

and create a digital medical prototype for determining the presence and severity of pleural air

leaks post-surgery.

Full Product life-cycle development from planning to prototype. I calculated product

specifications, sourced components from various suppliers around the world, designed and

constructed the electronics and 3D Printed/Laser cut housing, and assembled and tested the

fully finished prototype.

Delivered a fully working prototype and research report to the clients within a tight 12-week

project life cycle.
