33rd Sunday in
Ordinary Time
Jesus gives us the
grace and strength
needed to persevere
in faith.
Throughout His life and ministry, Jesus
taught clearly that there is a cost to living as
His faithful disciples. We may be rejected or
persecuted for the sake of our faith. We need
not fear, however, for Jesus promises to give
us the grace and strength to persevere.

& Kindergarten. This catechetical program is held in
the Pre-K classrooms in the Lower Level of the
Convent and includes religious story time, songs
and activities based on the Sunday Gospels. After
the 9:30 AM Mass, parents promptly pick up their
children.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY: HELPING THE NEEDY OF OUR PARISH
During the coming weeks, we need
donations of turkeys and hams for the
holidays. Please bring these items to the
Front Door of the Rectory, 9 AM to 5 PM.
Monetary donations are also needed and ap-
preciated. Please make checks payable to St.
Vincent de Paul Society and drop them off at
the Rectory, attention: Mrs. Linda Freeman.
COAT DRIVE:
Operation Bundle Up
Donate usable coats to Catholic
Community Services. Boys,
girls and adult coats will be
collected in Rectory Meeting
Room 1 after all Masses on November 12 & 13.
For more information, please call Connie Terzyk at
215-671-0973.
Advent Mercy Project:
Prepare Christmas Meals
for Aid for Friends
Our goal is to provide
OVER 1,000 MEALS!
When: Friday, December 2,
5 to 8 PM in the Parish Hall;
Saturday, December 3,
8 AM in the Parish Hall
How You Can Help:
Many turkeys are needed! Cook a turkey and
donate it to the project. Cooked turkeys can be
brought to the Parish Hall on Thursday or Fri-
day evening, between 6 and 8 PM. Call Deacon
Lindsay at 267-266-2201 or Lisa Vivino at 215-
470-4481 to inform them.
Peel and cook potatoes at home. Pick up a bag
of potatoes in Rectory Meeting Room 1 when
you come to Mass on the weekend of Novem-
ber 26/27. Return the cooked mashed potatoes
to the Parish Hall on Friday evening between 5
and 8 PM.
Donate money towards the purchase of food
needed to make the meals. Monetary donations
may be put in the collection or dropped off at
the Rectory in an envelope marked “Project
Mercy.”
Many hands are needed at the Parish Hall to
help prepare and package the meals. This can
be a great family project: there’s a job for all!
Help is needed on Friday evening and Saturday
morning. (More help is needed on Saturday
morning.)
GIFT-GIVING TREE Once again, you have the opportunity to
extend the Christmas spirit by joining in
our annual Gift-Giving Tree Program. This
special program provides toys and other
presents for children from needy families
within our Parish.
The process remains the same as in previous years.
Trees with tags on them will be set up in the main vesti-
bule of the Upper Church on Saturday, November 19.
As a reminder, the procedures are as follows:
Take a tag/tags from the tree. Purchase only what is
indicated on the tags. The tags will provide all the
necessary details, including the age and gender of
the child, the type of gift and any specific sizes that
are desired. Some tags may request a gift card
which may be purchased through Maternity
B.V.M.’s SCRIP Program. Please do not take a tag
if you cannot purchase the gift and return it by
the specified date. Gift tags are designated to a
particular child for a particular gift. It would be
very disturbing if one child in a family receives
fewer gifts than other siblings.
Attach the tags securely to the gifts. In case of
monetary gifts or gift cards, the gift should be
placed in an envelope with the tag attached to the
outside of the envelope.
Return all donations of gifts, gift cards or money
unwrapped on Saturday, December 3, or Sun-
day, December 4. Please make note of these dates,
because the distribution of the gifts will take place
that week.
Gifts may be placed by the St. Joseph’s Altar in the
Upper Church or in Rectory Meeting Room 2.
Again, gifts must be returned on time.
The process is simple and the sense of satisfaction,
enormous. We are most grateful for your past generosity
and support for this worthwhile program. For any ques-
tions, call Linda Freeman of our St. Vincent de Paul
Society at 215-676-6051. Thanks!
