MOOC, the future of Higher Education?
• No one is entirely clear on how MOOCs are going to affect higher education in India or abroad
• But, with advent of MOOCs, Universities will have to change
• High quality vetted content will be freely available to students
• Professors will have to transform their teaching methods as students will demand more
• Rise of Social and Collaborative Learning• Improvement in Standard of Education
MOOC Growth Challenges
• MOOC can act as catalyst, but cannot replace classroom learning
• MOOC “Certificate of Completion” cannot replace Degrees
• Lack of stringent proctoring methods for MOOC assessments leading to credibility issues for their certifications
