Mission Statement
Saint Michael Parish is a Catholic Chris!an
community called together by God to share in
the mission of Jesus Christ. Our community
invites each member to par!cipate ac!vely in
the parish by freely developing his/her unique,
God-given gi"s to love and care for one
another in the name of Jesus Christ. We
recognize our responsibility to share these gi"s
with all members of the Kingdom of God. We
bear the responsibility of a community of
believers to accept and respect each other's
expressions of faith, to proclaim the Glory of
God through worship, ministry and joyful love
for all people. We willingly embrace the needs
of our members as well as the members of the
wider human community and challenge each
other to live the gospel values of Jesus Christ.
We hope that living our parish vision will result
in the spiritual growth and unity of our parish.

Blessing for Mothers’ Day
n the Mother’s Day weekend, let us ask special blessings on the women who are important in our lives:
God of Love, listen to our prayer for mothers and stepmothers, grandmothers and godmothers, for all the women who nurture us and believe in us and teach us to believe. Bless them with the strength of your spirit, they who have taught their children how to stand and how to walk. Bless them with the melody of your love, they who have shared how to speak, how to sing an how to pray to you. Bless them with a place at your eternal dinner table, they who have fed and nurtured our lives. Bless them today, now, in this lifetime with good things: with health, with joy, with love and laughter, with many good friends. And in the life to come, bless them with the comfort of your divine embrace as they rejoice for all eternity with their family and friends. These blessings and all graces, we pray descend upon the women of our parish. And may God bless us all in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

What: Ultimate Frisbee
Who: All adults and youth (13+)
When: Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm (weather permitting)
From Memorial Day to Labor Day (May 29th-Aug. 28th)
Where: St. Michael field – by the playground.
Don’t know what Ultimate Frisbee is? We’ll teach you!
All skill levels are welcome!
Ultimate Frisbee is a great way for adults to stay active. It doesn’t require a lot of
skill. If you can throw and catch a frisbee and are willing to walk/jog/skip/shuffle,
you can play Ultimate Frisbee. Bring the whole family – younger kids can play on
the playground while teens and adults play an organized game (church does not
provide supervision for playground). All teens must have a signed permission slip
(one covers all summer); adults can sign a waiver on site. We will meet on the
north end of the football field (by the playground).

Reverend King
St. Michael Archangel Parish
3430 St Michael Blvd NW
Canton OH 44718
Dear Reverend King,
Thank you so much for your consideration and approval for the grant request to fund our newly
added Tuesday lunches. When we first heard the other ministry would be closing their doors to this
weekly lunch, we began praying and implementing plans to incorporate this meal into our regular
schedule.
When we announced to our dinner guests our plans to provide this additional meal, they began
applauding in gratitude. It was quite overwhelming.
Because of your generosity and partnership no one, in our community, will go hungry on
Tuesday at lunch. In addition, it is one more opportunity to share the love of Christ with everyone who
comes for that meal.
One of our dinner guests explained, after he paid his rent and utilities food was a luxury for him.
My heart broke hearing those words, but now Kenneth is provided regular hot, nutritious meals each
time he comes to the Meal Ministry. And he always makes it a point to tell us how grateful he is.
Therefore our thanks and sincere gratitude includes each man, woman, and child we serve at
Refuge of Hope! You are truly making a difference in the lives of so many who have so little!
Blessings,
JoAnn Carpenter
