“In the Roman Catholic tradition, the people of Saint Patrick Parish are called to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ by our words and actions through the
celebration of the Sacraments, acts of justice and charity and life-long faith formation; the fruits of which are a welcoming faith-filled community bringing ourselves

New Mother’s Meal Ministry
Over the past 16 months, Mom’s Meal Ministry VOLUNTEERS have provided 4-7 meals for 15 families who welcomed a
new child into their home. Parishioner Bette Lindley has gifted each baby with a lovely quilt embroidered with the child’s
name. We are privileged to show such love & support to the growing families of St. Patrick Parish with the gift of meals
& a quilt!
As we prepare to welcome the Christ Child, we thank these volunteers for welcoming new life in our parish, generously
sharing of their time & talent, but most importantly of their treasure-the JOY of God’s love in the birth of a child! Please
join the parish in thanking these volunteers: Bonnie Born, Julie Bowers, Abby Bryan, Melanie Castle, Beth Collins, Kateri-

Right to Life
In the past, Wabash Valley Right to Life has placed
a full page ad in the newspaper during the month
of January on the anniversary of Roe V. Wade.
This year, there will be instead at least four differ-
ent Pro-Life billboards around town. The Wabash
Valley Right to Life is asking for donations to help
support the cost of the billboards. During the
weekends of January 7/8, and January 14/15
there will be donations collected following Mass.
Please show your support for the unborn!

ST. PATRICK SOUP KITCHEN NEWS
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begot-
ten Son; that whosoever believes in him should not perish
but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
As God has freely given to us, we have set our hearts to
give back to Him in return by loving & feeding our neigh-
bors in the Soup Kitchen ministry. Due to the changes at
the Lighthouse Mission, our numbers for October & No-
vember have been as high as our summer numbers & we
have seen many new families. This has impacted our
budget, & the Soup Kitchen would ask for your prayerful
consideration of a Christmas offering to the Soup Kitchen
this year to help offset some of the costs of the increased
number of meals we are preparing.
Thank you for your very generous donations.
RCIA will meet Wednesday, December 14th for the sac-
raments of Holy Orders and Matrimony. We will meet
in the Family Life Center Room A at St. Patrick School of
the Terre Haute Deanery from 6:30-8:30pm. Babysitting
is available and all are welcome to attend.
Sunday morning Religious Education Classes will meet December 11th and December 18th. We will not meet December 25 or January 1st. We will resume classes January 8th.

A Faith worth Sharing
What did Jesus see when He looked at the woman at the well in John chapter 4. He saw someone who wanted ac-
ceptance and desperately needed to know she was loved. Most of all, He saw someone who needed what only He
could give, a new heart.
It was no accident that the disciples had all gone to town to by food. Surely, they would have warned Jesus not to
talk to this person; a woman, a Samaritan, and someone with a bad reputation. Jesus, not being one to follow pro-
tocol, however, used this encounter to bless her with the truth, and living water. In just one conversation, Jesus
broke down barriers of old hostilities, of gender bias, of ethnic and racial divides. And this woman became the
first of many Samaritans who came to know that Jesus was the Messiah.
When the woman at the well told others of her encounter with a Man who knew all that she ever did, she was al-
ready practicing the principle of sowing and reaping that Jesus was teaching his disciples. Many believed that day,
and later His disciples would preach in Samaria and lead many more to Christ.
As we gather for the Christmas season with family and friends, may we use this opportunity to tell others of our
own encounter with Jesus and bless them with living water. Because a faith worth having is a faith worth sharing.!
together through prayer and service,
Deacon Mike
