Netra IT solutions for the visually challenged
GTLF started an Advanced
Computer Training Centre for the
Visually Impaired, in Lower Parel
on 16th August 2005, which is the
first of its kind in India.It prepares
them to be eligible for accepting
various IT opportunities.
49 visually challenged students
are undergoing training today.
9 students from Advanced
batch, 12 students from
Refresher batch and 33
students from Basic batch have
completed their course.

Scholarship to the DeservingDisaster Relief
Gyan Jyot encouraging future achievers through scholarships
Reaches out to the children of GTL employees
who deserve financial assistance and for whom,
a scholarship program will be a motivator to
excel. Scholarships are awarded on merit cum
need-based. The scholarships covers from 7th
Standard up to degree completion. 49
students have been awarded scholarship till
date.
Pralay coping with calamity
The Mumbai floods on 26th July 2005 affected
thousands. Financial assistance was given to
about 100 families for immediate
procurement of necessities. Through “Yuvak
Prathishtan” an NGO, note Books were
distributed to students who lost their study
material during the floods
Idaya rehabilitating tsunami survivors
Within 13 months 30 newly constructed
homes in Veerampattinam, Pondicherry,
provided to rehabilitate Tsunami disaster
victims

help Mumbai Police reach out to citizens of

Chennai shelters cancer patients and offers
treatment with Adayar Cancer Institute.
