Installation
Installation
Before working under header always:
1. Perform all combine and header manufacturer safety precautions for servicing header.
2. Insert stop to prevent movement of header.
3. Turn off combine and remove key from ignition.
4. Set combine parking brake.
5. Disconnect all drive shafts from the header.

Complete the installation portion of this header manual before continuing.
Installing Terrace Sensors (if equipped)
1. Line up holes of sensor and mounting bracket with spring installed short leg up and long leg back in mounting bracket.
2. Insert pin and secure with retaining ring.• Install clamp on adjusting bolt• Adjust leveling bolt till sensor is level and lock jam nut
3. Tighten bolt holding clamp on side of sensor.

4. Mark hole at location marked and drill with hole saw provided.
5. Remove divider and mark hole in back side.
6. Drill with hole saw provided.
7. Reinstall divider.
8. Install terrace sensor mounting bracket to divider then tighten set screw A and lock jam nut B.
9. Install previously assembled sensor assembly to terrace mounting bracket with hardware provided at mounting location marked C.
• Terrace sensor bracket angle is adjustable at location marked D. If head is heeled back sensor may need to be adjusted to lower setting
10. Install long poly arm with hardware provided.
11. Repeat for other side.

Installation
Installing Standard Sensors
1. Determine sensor mounting location.
2. Mount outer sensors first, mounting out as far as possible. (if not equipped with terrace option)
• Mount all inner sensors as evenly spaced as possible across the head
• To avoid clearance issues you may need to pre-assemble sensor, mounting bracket and belt shield
3. Remove poly skid at selected locations and retain for later installation.
4. Install bolts and nut into one mounting bracket at locations marked (these can be removed after holes are marked). Use bracket as a template to layout holes to drill.
5. Drill marked holes with 11/32” drill bit.
6. Remove large cover from sensors, retain hardware and covers.
7. Remove bolt holding wiring clamp inside sensor.
8. Mount sensors to brackets with hardware provided.• Leave hardware finger tight for ease of wiring routing
later

9. Mount sensor assembly to header skid plates with hardware provided.
10. Mount Draper belt shield on 2008 and later heads only to sensor assembly with provided hardware.
11. Place plastic skid in place and use a hammer to mark back side of poly.
• Drill 1/4” pilot hole for each marked hole then drill out to 3/4”
• Install poly skid with previously removed hardware
12. Repeat for all Standard Sensors.

Installation
Install Terrace Sensor Wiring (if equipped)
1. Attach 10’ extension to terrace sensor and route through terrace mounting tube.
2. Zip tie connector before pulling slack thru tube.
3. Route harness through holes previously drilled in end divider.
4. Route harness through hole in end frame.
5. Zip tie at marked location A, then fasten harness at locations marked B with small clamps and provided hardware.
6. Continue routing harness through back upper tube Marked C to hole left of feederhouse.

Installation
Install Standard Sensor Wiring (all rows)
1. Install protective conduit on wiring coming from sensor.
2. To aid installing conduit on sensor wiring without damaging wire insulation, tape a wrench big enough to open conduit wider then wiring harness.
3. Insert box end of wrench into conduit using it as a guide to slide conduit over wiring. Remove wrench and repeat for all other standard mount sensors.
4. Slide conduit all the way up to sensor and fasten with one or two clamps depending on what side of support its on.
5. Tighten all sensor mounting hardware and reinstall previously removed cover.
• Be sure not to pinch wires when reinstalling cover.

Installation
Install Standard Sensor Wiring (inner rows)
1. Mount protective loom to support with two clamps and self tapping screws provided.
2. Route harness up back side of head to back tube and fasten with zips.
3. Route harness through back tube to hole left of feederhouse.

Installation
Install Standard Sensor Wiring (outer rows)
1. Route harness towards outside of head and fasten with zip tie at marked location.
2. Route harness back under side of head and fasten at marked locations.
• Use big clamp in front location and small clamp in rear location
3. Route harness toward opening in upper tube and fasten at marked location with small clamp and hardware provided.
4. Route harness through back tube to hole left of feederhouse.

Installation
Install Sensor Wands and Tether Cables
1. Use hardware provided and fasten wand to sensor.• Install long wands on all terrace sensors using 1”
flange bolts - bolts must extend through back of the metal sensor arm
• If terrace sensors are not used install long wands on outer standard sensors with 1-1/8” hex bolts
• Install short wands on all inner sensor with 1-1/8” hex bolts
2. Attach a tether cable to each wand.• Use a screwdriver to pry open the slit in the rear of the wand
Tether cables are not used on terrace sensors.
3. Fasten the rear of the cable to a secure location on the header.• Make sure that the cable cannot catch on any moving or solid parts• Adjust the cable length so that it pulls the arm slightly (1/2”) back from its original position
Install Insight or Horizon Mounting Bracket
1. Install mounting bracket to frame with existing bolt. • Insight (shown at right)• Horizon (shown lower right)
2. Using supplied Hardware attach Insight box to mounting bracket.

Before Calibration
1. Lock header float adapter before calibrating. • Lower head on level ground till float adapter rests on
ground and lock both sides of head• After calibration, operator may either unlock float
adapter for best cushion or leave locked for best combine control of head

Terrace Sensor
Increasing or Decreasing Voltage1. Loosen the screws indicated A.
2. Turn sensor to new location.
3. Tighten screws A.
Adjusting Voltage Swing1. Loosen jam nut B.
2. Turn Bolt to adjust.
3. Rotating bolt counter clockwise increases voltage swing
4. Rotating bolt clockwise decreases voltage swing
5. Tighten jam nut B.
Adjusting Down Pressure1. Loosen jam nut A.
2. Turn bolt to adjust tension.
3. Rotating bolt counter clockwise decreases down pressure.
4. Rotating bolt clockwise increases down pressure.
5. Tighten jam nut A.

Sensor Adjustment
Standard Sensor
Increasing or Decreasing Voltage1. Remove sensor cover.
2. Loosen sensor mounting screws A.
3. Twist sensor to new position.• Twisting sensor clockwise (viewed from the end of
the sensor) will increase voltage• Twisting sensor CCW will decrease voltage
4. Tighten sensor mounting screws A.
Adjusting Down Pressure1. Remove spring cover.
2. Loosen indicated nut A.
3. Press adjustment bolt toward sensor.• Spring tension will release.
4. Preload spring to a new position.
5. Use one wrench to turn the adjustment bolt.
6. Use a second wrench to tighten the nut A.
7. Tightening the bolt (CW) increases spring downpressure.
Make sure that the leg of the spring is fully seated in the shaft to prevent rubbing on the cover plate.
8. Reinstall cover plate.

STATEMENT OF LIMITED WARRANTY
For Headsight® Products Headsight Inc. (Headsight) warrants its new products to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of twelve (12) consecutive months following the date of purchase by the retail purchaser.
Headsight Inc. (Headsight) warrants its new corn sensors assemblies for a period of thirty-six (36) months.
Headsight warrants genuine Headsight replacement parts and components to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of six (6) consecutive months following the date of purchase or the remainder of the original equipment warranty period, whichever is longer.
Headsight’s obligation under these warranties shall be limited to repairing or replacing, free of charge to the original purchaser, any part that, in Headsight’s judgment, shows evidence of such defect.
Limitations to Warranty
This warranty does not cover:• Warranty claims directly resulting from improper installation of the product.• Any product damaged by accident, abuse, misuse, or negligence after shipment from Headsight.• Any unauthorized product alteration or modification.• Any unauthorized repairs made with parts other than genuine Headsight parts.• Any repairs performed by anyone other than Headsight or an authorized Headsight dealer unless specifically authorized
by Headsight.
Warranty Procedure• Troubleshooting should be done between farmer/dealer and Headsight through our technical assistance @
574.220.5511. • Labor reimbursement will occur only pre-arranged through Headsight technical assistance and be scheduled to a flat rate
basis or reasonable time allowance in Headsight’s judgment. • There is no mileage reimbursement. • Diagnostic time will not be reimbursed except in pre-arranged circumstances.• Warranty claims should be on typical dealer service work order with a number and name to be attached for any future
correspondence. • All warranty work must be performed, and claims submitted, within sixty (60) days of the occurrence of the claim and
within the warranty period.• All parts removed during warranty repair should be help for a period of 60 days after the warranty claim has been submit-
ted to Headsight. • Headsight, Inc. reserves the right to either inspect the product at the original retail purchaser’s location or require it to be
returned to Headsight, Inc. for inspection.
Limitation of LiabilityHeadsight makes no express warranties other than those, which are specifically described herein. Any description of the goods sold hereunder, including any reference to buyer’s specifications and any descriptions in circulars and other written material published by Headsight is for the sole purpose of identifying such goods and shall not create an express warranty that the goods shall conform to such description.
THIS WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. There are no implied warranties of merchantability or fitness of a particular purpose. This warranty states Headsight’s entire and exclusive liability and buyer’s exclusive remedy or any claim for damages in connection with the sale of furnishing of Headsight products, their design, suitability for use, installation or operation, or for any claimed defects herein. HEADSIGHT WILL IN NO EVENT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, NO FOR ANY SUM IN EXCESS OF THE PRICE RECEIVED FOR THE GOODS FOR WHICH LIABILITY IS CLAIMED.
No representative of Headsight nor any dealer associated with Headsight has the authority to change the items of this warranty in any manner whatsoever, and no assistance to purchaser by Headsight in the repair of operation of any Headsight product shall constitute a waiver of the conditions of this warranty, nor shall such assistance extend or revive it.
Headsight reserves the right to make improvements in design or changes in specifications at any time, without incurring any obligation to owners of units previously sold. Warranty: 10/2006
