MA1505 Supplementary Exercises (Set 1)

These notes contain suggested solutions to selected

examination questions in AY2009/2010 Semester 1.

Remarks 1. Some questions have been omitted because they were

from topics which are not in the current syllabus (e.g.

partial differential equations) or not included in the final

examination. The questions in these notes are within the

current MA1505 syllabus.

2. In the upcoming examination, the examination paper

layout will be different: for each question, there will not be

a ‘box’ that students are required to write their final

answer in. Solutions are to be written in a separate

answer booklet (with a coloured cover page).

3. The upcoming examination will only include topics from

Fourier series and later chapters. There will be 8

questions, with each question consisting of part (a) and

part (b).
