GTR UK 2020 will now take place in London on November 2, a newly rescheduled date following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Even before COVID 19 brought the country to a standstill, the UK had enjoyed a momentous last 12 months, with a new government elected in late 2019 and the country’s exit from the European Union in January 2020. This has only increased following the extreme economic measures put in place to maintain the UK economy in the face of coronavirus, the consequences of which will be felt for years to come.
With this powerful backdrop, when reconvened this year’s gathering will assess what the future holds for UK companies conducting international business, from new dynamics in global value chains to the support mechanisms being made available to firms of all sizes, many of which will have had to adapt their business strategies and in many cases diversity their goods and products to meet changes in both supply and demand.
The event will also consider the important role of a collective effort – hugely relevant in the current climate – in the development and expansion UK Plc, promoting British business interests abroad and seizing opportunities for growth through the building of a global network to support trade.
