This kid’s retro apron pattern features a sweetheart neckline, half circle skirt and finishes above the knee with contrasting bias binding and ties.
Apron is 19” wide (at waist height) and 22” from top of bodice to bottom of skirt. The waist ties are both 20“ long.*
*you can always add a little length to the contrast skirt strip/waist ties/neck ties

QUICK REFERENCE INSTRUCTIONS
Seam allowances are 1/4” unless otherwise specified
1 Place neck strap pieces right sides facing (RSF) and sew the two long edges.
2 Turn neck strap right side out, press and top stitch. Repeat for other strap. Optional: add hook and loop for a hook and loop closure instead of a tie closure.
3 Pin neck strap to wrong side of bodice and baste in place.
4 Finish bodice with 1/2” double fold bias tape, leaving the waist unfinished. Press neck strap away from bodice and top stitch to secure
5 Sew side pieces onto skirt base (1/4” seam allowance). Sew skirt base to skirt with a ½” seam allowance. Finish seams as desired.
6 Finish sides of skirt with 1/2” double fold bias tape.
7 Sew two side waist ties to either side of a centre tie, repeat to create the back of the tie and press seams only. Sandwich the skirt between the front and back of the tie. Align centre of tie with notch and the joins of the tie with the edges of the skirt. Sew around one end of the tie, along the skirt and around the other end of the tie. . Leaving the top of the centre tie open.
8 Align the notch on the bodice with the centre of the front waist tie and sew in place.
9 Turn the ends of the tie right side out and press the tie flat with the remaining seam allowances pressed to the wrong side.
10 Top stitch all the way around the tie.
