Message from the President
Teijin Frontier is the only trading company in the industry in Japan that specializes in fibers while being able to research, develop, produce and sell them. We combine our capabili-ties as a trading company with our research, development and production abilities to provide high-performance prod-uct with high added value in the fields of “textiles & appar-el” and “industrial textiles and materials.”Teijin Frontier has also developed its procurement abilities in both of these fields over many years and maintains wide-ranging processing and production networks both in Japan and overseas. With these attributes, we are building a global supply chain that enables us to flexibly respond to increasingly sophisticated and diverse market needs. In terms of research, development and production, we are combining manufacturing through our own production facilities with fabless manufacturing to create and provide optimal commercial distribution that covers every stage of our process, from the development of our original textile materials to mass production and stable supply.By applying these unique strengths, we are creating a busi-ness model through which we can respond to diversifying needs and demand for mass production.
We are conducting business in accordance with our five priority measures for growth: “Concentrating management resources in growth markets,” “Strengthening material development capabilities,” “Establishing a stronger global sales force,” “Promoting the generation of new business-es” and “Implementing business reforms and strengthen-ing the governance structure.” We believe that applying our strengths and embracing changes, such as the shift from consumption focused solely on tangible goods to a mode of consumption that also em-phasizes other values and the fusion between the fiber business and digital technologies, is the key to achieving further growth moving forward.
In 2019, we added the words “healthy environment” to our corporate philosophy. We always conduct our business out of consideration for the global environment, which provides the foundation for our business, as we help advance people’s lives by creating new value. Through these efforts, we are aiming to become a company that provides support for a sustainable society.
