PLANT LIFE CYCLES
AND REPRODUCTI
ON
LIFE CYCLE Every organism goes through a life
cycle. A life cycle consists of:
the beginning of life growth and
development reproduction death
It All Begins Here For 80% of all plants, the beginning of
life is the seed. If all of the needs of the seed are met,
it will begin to grow and develop. It continues until it is an adult plant. Think of human growth and
development:Newborn baby >>> Toddler >>> Child >>> Teenager >>> Adult
The Life Cycle Never Ends Reproduction starts the
cycle again by making offspring.
Offspring resemble their parents. For example a red rose will produce seeds for another red rose.
Death can happen at anytime.
All Plants Have Life Cycles…
but they begin in different ways.
Not all plants begin their life cycles as seeds.
Not all plants reproduce by making seeds.
Non-seed Reproduction Spore- the cells in a seedless plant that can
grow into new organisms, such as a fern plant.
Plants that reproduce by spores reproduce quickly.
