2. WI-FI INTERFACE Introduction
The Wi-Fi Interface is one part of the Baseband System.
Its main application described in this document is to connect the WIFI interface to Qualcomm Atheros QCA6574A-3 / QC6564A-3 chipset.
Any Technical information regarding QCA6574A-3 such as data sheets,
reference schematics and other Qualcomm documents are Qualcomm
proprietary.
Therefore, Telit may provide such Qualcomm documents, only after getting
Qualcomm formal approval, or having a signed NDA between Qualcomm and
Telit customer..
Functional Overview The Wi-Fi Interface is a dedicated SD interface that designed as a communication channel to the Qualcomm Atheros chipset.

EVB Connection The Wi-Fi interface connection which is forming the system of LE920A4/LE910Cx and the QCA6574A-3 reference design module is made using the EVB Connectivity Extension

• Only 4 bit SDIO bus is supported by the Modem. • SDIO_WAKEUP_HOST_L (also called SDIO_INT on some WIFI module designs)
is only needed when SDIO 1bit or SDIO SPI interface is used. • LTE_ACTIVE signal is not required since our system is using the 2-wire WCI
interface for LTE coexistence. • GPS_COEX signal is not used and should be left unconnected on the WIFI side. • WLAN_RF_KILL_L turn off WLAN RF analog and front-end. It is not used on our
design since we use the WLA_PWD_L for placing the WIFI into sleep mode.

3. WI-FI DEMO GETTING STARTED GUIDE Software/Set-up Requirements
The following Drivers must be installed: - Android SDK platform on a Windows machine:
a) Go to: http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html Follow the instructions for installing the SDK (Select SDK only, no need for ADT bundles). b) Right-click My Computer, select Properties→Advanced→Environment Variables, and set the path to include the c:\android-sdk-windows\tools directory. The path must point to directory with fastboot.exe file in it. For example -> C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools c) Navigate to the %USERPROFILE%\.android directory (simply copy this line into the file browser: %USERPROFILE%\.android). d) In the %USERPROFILE%\.android directory, create/edit the adb_usb.ini file. If the file already exists, it will contain a DO NOT EDIT message. Disregard this message and edit the file anyway. To edit, add a line containing 0x1bc7 to the end of the file. The file contents should look like this: # ANDROID 3RD PARTY USB VENDOR ID LIST -- DO NOT EDIT. # USE 'android update adb' TO GENERATE. # 1 USB VENDOR ID PER LINE: 0x1bc7

Commands example 1) Open Command prompt (cmd.exe), and execute ‘adb shell’ command. 2) Line marking will change to / # , You can proceed to step 2.
The following steps are run from within this shell, as is.
1) Type QCMAP_CLI, select the following options: a. type 30 (Enable/Disable Mobile AP) – 1: Enable b. type 31 (Enable/Disable WLAN) – 1: Enable c. type 32 (Connect/Disconnect Backhaul)
