WEEKLY MASS SCHEDULE
Are you perfect? If not, please continue reading…This is what Jesus asks of us in the Gospel – “Be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48) The Season of Lent begins in a few days with Ash Wednesday. As the insert in last weekend’s bulletin indicated, Lent is a time to “turn to the Lord with all your heart.” A number of suggestions were offered, each of them focus on deepening and improving our relationship with Jesus. Whatever we choose to do for the 40 days of Lent should bring us closer to Jesus!
Becoming perfect is about loving Jesus in a way that causes us to change our lives and therefore makes a difference in the world. As our mission statement proclaims: “Jesus lives within us. We can change the world.” One of the best ways to live for Jesus is to spend time with Him in Adoration – which will be available every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in our Family of Parishes from 10am to 1pm. Daily mass attendance is also a beautiful way to deepen our love for the Lord – to be fed with His Word and nourished with His Body & Blood.
Perfection is not out of our reach. It is about loving others as God loves us. During Lent, may the Spirit of God lead us to a deeper union of love with Jesus and each other!

Lenten Theme Song: It was recommended at our Staff Meeting that a “theme song” for the season of Lent would
be helpful to keep us focused on deepening our relationship with Jesus. The song that has been chosen is entitled
“Here I bow”. It will be sung at every weekend Mass throughout the 6 weeks of Lent as a communion meditation
hymn. Once the celebrant is seated after communion, the congregation will join in singing this hymn of praise. Copies
will be made available at Sacred Heart & St. Paul. We ask that the parishioners please leave them in the church as they
will be used for the entire season of Lent.
Something New for Parents with young ones: Come join us Thursday, February 27th.
