Upon arrival at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg you will be warmly welcomed by our representative. A light air-craft transfer will bring you directly to Kirkman’s Private Game Re-serve in the Sabi Sand, Kruger Park.

The Sabi Sand Game Reserve is famed for its intimate wildlife en-counters, particularly leopard viewing. Home to a host of ani-mals, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino), the Sabi Sand is part of a conservation area that covers over two million hectares (almost five million acres), an area equivalent to the state of New Jersey.

DAY 1,2,3,4:

KRUGER PARK, SOUTH AFRICA

2

Page 3: Kruger, victoria falls & okavango delta

With no boundary fences between the Sabi Sand and the Kruger National Park, this reserve benefits from the great diversity of animals found in one of the richest wildlife areas on the African continent, along with the additional benefits experienced on a private game reserve.

Game drives traverse an area of 6 300 hectares (15 568 acres) and strict vehicle limits at sightings ensure the exclusivity of the game viewing experience. Sensitive off-road driving ensures that guests have the best possible view of any exceptional sighting and rangers are constantly in touch with each other to keep track of animal movements.

The spirit of safari comes alive at historic Kirkman’s Kamp. Step back in time into the gracious early Transvaal atmosphere of this original 1920s homestead and marvel at the spectacular views of the un-spoiled landscape that surrounds the Sand River from each of the 18 guest suites. Rolling lawns carve out a niche in a wild and tumbling wilderness that host memorable game viewing in one of the most renowned Big Five wildlife regions in the world. Spacious sitting, dining and bar areas steeped in the colonial atmosphere of gracious style and luxury contain mementoes of a time long past, while the untamed wilderness outside whispers a promise of adventures not to be forgotten. A sparkling swimming pool boasts a magnificent view over the valley of the Sand River

After the morning game drive and breakfast a light aircraft trans-fer will bring you to Nelspruit Kruger Airport for your commercial flight to Livingstone. Our representative will welcome you at arri-val in Livingstone and a road transfer will bring you to Toka Leya.

The swiftly-flowing Zambezi River hurries past Toka Leya Camp in the central part of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, just 12 km from the Victoria Falls. The eastern and main areas of camp are under a shady canopy of jackalberry, knobthorn and waterberry trees, while the western side is in a more open setting: an ancient baobab tree is the focal point of panoramic Zambezi vistas. There is ample space for relaxation with meals served on the sun-

Toka Leya’s location means that there is plenty to do here, from cruising down the Zambezi to visiting Victoria Falls, exploring Livingstone town to game driving through Mosioa-Tunya National Park. After breakfast a road transfer will bring you to Kasane Airport just over the border in Botswana for your light aircraft flight to Nxabega in the Okavango Delta.

A maze of sparkling lagoons, meandering channels and over-grown islands teeming with wildlife, Botswana’s Okavango Delta lies like a sparkling jewel at the heart of the Kalahari Desert. Known as the river that never finds the sea, the Delta’s crystal-clear channels spread over the thirstlands of the Kalahari with their papyrus-fringed banks and fertile floating islands. Adapted for a life in and out of water, the elegant red lechwe and shy sita-tunga are found in this watery wilderness.

Lion, cheetah, leopard and African wild dog share the floodplains with large herds of elephant and buffalo. Hippo inhabit the deeper channels and lagoons, while honeybadgers can be seen in broad daylight. Tall termite mounds are homes for families of dwarf and banded mongoose. Traditional mok-oro (dugout canoe) rides explore the delicate details of the glistening waterways, where iridescent dragonflies, frogs of every colour and jewel-like kingfishers live in the papyrus-lined banks.
