Versatile specialistsApart from bimetallic cylinders,
Kluin Wijhe offers other services, such as
deephole drilling and the manufacturing
of precision products. If, after deephole
drilling, certain parts need further
machining or treatment, we shall be glad
to assist you. In this way, you save time as
well as money. If you involve us in your
production process at an early stage, you
can make optimum use of our services.
Besides, our advice often results in
substantial savings.
Cylinders made to measureIf you need single or twin-screw cylinders
for new or broken down injection
moulding and extrusion machines, then
you want them made to measure.
Literally and figuratively! Literally: the
dimensions ordered are the dimensions
supplied - accurately to the 0.01 mm.
Figuratively: delivery times and other
agreements are handled just as carefully.
Indeed, as long as your machines are
stopped you incur production losses.
Only established specialists who know
your problems and are ready to advise
and assist you, can offer you this service.
Kluin Wijhe, the bimetallic specialistsAt Kluin Wijhe, metal runs "in their
blood". Our know-how of materials and
processing techniques is exceptional. For
example, we can extend the life of injection
and extrusion cylinders by five to ten
times by using bimetallic. A specialist
technique, which is in safe hands with us.
We can apply internal metal alloys up to
12 mm thick, whilst guaranteeing
minimal tolerances.
Obviously, you can rely on us, because
we have been ISO 9002 quality certified
ever since 1982 and, besides, we are a
member of the Aalberts Industries N.V.

The hard factsKluin Wijhe uses a centrifugal techniquefor its manufacture of bimetallic cylinders. In this process, cylinders are casted witha hard metal alloy in an extremely sophisticated furnace at a temperature of approx. 1200°C.
The great advantage of bimetallic liningsis that their hardness is even throughoutthe layer thickness. Contrary to nitridedcylinders. Thanks to the bimetallictechnology, cylinders offer even betterabrasion and corrosion resistance underhigh temperatures and pressure.
It goes without saying that dimensionalvariations and inaccuracies are reducedto the absolute minimum. This meansthat the life of your cylinder can be improved by a factor of five to ten. Kluin Wijhe is one of few companiesspecialized in bimetallic linings.
How many KB do you need? The abrasion resistance of the lining depends on the lining chosen. There arefour levels of quality, of which KB 350guarantees the best abrasion resistance.

SCREWS IN PRACTICE
In injection moulding and extrusion
machines, temperatures and pressure
may rise very high. Besides, the raw
materials to be processed are often
aggressive and abrasive and reduce the
economic life of the cylinder and screw.
Since economic life and effective produc-
tion time are of vital importance, high
demands are made on the various parts.
Kluin Wijhe manufactures and supplies
bimetallic cylinders and screws which
match with the highest demands.
Speciality of the houseApart from single-screw cylinders,
Kluin Wijhe also manufactures
bimetallic twin-screw cylinders.
The twin cylinder is manufactured by
joining two cylinders of exactly the same
size. This process is carried out with
extreme precision in order to guarantee
minimal tolerances.
Should you require further details after
reading the brief description of our services in
this brochure, please contact us. We can then
directly respond to your specific questions or
requirements. For more information or an
appointment, please call ++31-(0)570-52 87 77.
Pressure sleevesThe pulsating injection of injection
moulding machines produces extremely
high pressures on the discharge side
of the cylinder. Usually, the newly
developed backing materials provide
sufficient protection. If construction or
extremely high pressures require addi-
tional strength, a pressure sleeve is
shrunk on to the discharge side of the
cylinder to ensure that the materials can
withstand high levels of pressure.
Pressure sleeve
We do more than just cylinders. For an efficient production process, the cylinder and screw must be gearedto one another to the optimum. That iswhy Kluin Wijhe as a manufacturer ofbimetallic cylinders is also able to sup-ply the right screw. As a complete unit, which does what it must do.
ScrewsOur service has come to perfection
through the additional supply of the
pumping heart of the machine, "the
screw". This is how we guarantee
optimum adjustment between cylinder
and screw. The screws and tips are
manufactured entirely according to your
requirements or applications, whether
gas-nitrided, armoured, coated or
hardened. And in the case of screws,
repair is often more economical than
replacement.
