Prosper 202
Hi, and thanks for checking out this report on setting up the free
campaign tracker, Prosper202.
In this guide, I’m going to go through setting up Prosper202, step
by step. This is basically the same process I go through in the
video, so use whichever method you’re more comfortable with.
I’m also going to cover some important things you need to
consider before setting up Prosper 202. This pertains to domains
and hosting, so be sure to read through the first part of this PDF
before you go to install Prosper 202.
Before you install Prosper202
Prosper202 can be installed on any domain or subdomain.
However, you won’t be able to simply install it in a subdirectory.
So…
www.mytracking.com (.org, .net, .info, etc.) = Sweet!
mytracking.somedomain.com = Awesome!
www.somedomain.com/mytracking = No Bueno!
Subdomains work great because they’re usually free to set up.
Buy a dedicated domain if you want. Any .info will work. This is
not something people will be (or should be) typing into their
browser or searching for. It will be your own private data stash,
and one of your greatest assets once you start running profitable
campaigns. Guard it closely!

Now, for a word about hosting…
You need to give some serious thought to the type of hosting
you’ll be running your Prosper202 on, especially if you plan to use
paid traffic. A shared hosting plan should work fine for most free
traffic, and very light paid traffic. If you plan on tracking more than
500 clicks a day however, you’ll need to upgrade to VPS hosting.
This is because shared hosting platforms aren’t made to handle
large bursts of traffic. It’s never happened to me personally, but
I’ve heard many stories about shared servers overloading
because people were running more traffic through them than they
could handle.
If you think you’re going to need VPS hosting, I would highly
recommend Beyond Hosting. Their system is optimized
specifically for Prosper202. Better still, the support team at
beyond will set up Prosper202 for you, whenever you ask.
Can read more about Beyond’s hosting plans for Prosper 202 by
going here, and you can use the coupon code “hotprosper” to get
50% off your first month of VPS hosting at Beyond.
Whichever hosting company you want to go with, make sure to
check with them and ask if your plan will be sufficient to run
Prosper202.
Setup and Installation of Prosper202
Now that you’re prepared with a suitable domain and hosting
plan, let get Prosper202 up and running!
Prosper 202
If you haven’t already, download the zip file for Prosper202.
Next, extract the Prosper202 folder and put it in an easily
accessible place.
Open the C-Panel to your hosting account, and go into “My SQL
Databases.” Here, you’ll need to create a new database and
username that Prosper202 will use during installation.
Create the database name first, and make sure to copy it down to
a safe place. Also make sure to include the prefix, not just the
suffix that you type in.
Prosper 202
Once you have the database created, scroll down the page and
enter the info to create the username. Make sure to copy down
this information too. You’ll need both the username and the
password.
After you’ve created your user, scroll down further, and you’ll find
the option to add your username to your database. Select the
username and the database name that you just created, and click
on “add.”
Prosper 202
On the next screen, make sure to select “All Privilages” before
clicking “Make Changes”
You’re now finished working inside your C-Panel dashboard.
Close out of it if you wish.
For the next step, you can do one of two things: You can take the
database details that you copied and create the 202-config.php
file manually, or you can skip this step and let Prosper202 create
it after you upload all the files. The first option is very similar to a
WordPress install. If you’re familiar with that process, I’d suggest
going with the first option. If you would rather have it installed
automatically, skip ahead and go straight to uploading the files.
Prosper 202
Configuring the 202-config.php file
In the Prosper202 folder, you will find the file 202-config-
sample.php. Open this file with a text editor. Now refer to the
details that you copied when you created your database. It’s
pretty self-explanatory as far as what you need to enter.
After “$dbname” enter the name of the database you created.
After “$dbuser” enter the username you created.
After “$dbpass” enter the password that you assigned to the
username.
Prosper 202
You shouldn’t need to change anything else in the file.
Once you have the information entered, save and close the file.
Then, change the name from 202-config-sample.php to 202-
config.php.
That’s it! Now you’re ready to upload the files.
Upload the Files to Your Server
For this step, you’ll need to use an FTP client. If you don’t have
one, go ahead and download Filezilla. It’s the easiest way I’ve
found to transfer files to and from your server.
Once you’re connected to your server, find and open the directory
of the domain you’ll be hosting Prosper202 on. Now open the
folder containing all of your Prosper202 files. Select all of these
files, and drag them into the directory folder for your domain.
Prosper 202
Once the files finish copying, you can close Filezilla.
Finalize the Installation
To finish the installation, open your web browser and type in the
name of the domain where you’re installing Prosper202. If you
didn’t already configure the 202-config.php file manually, you will
get a message that will direct you to where you can create it
automatically.
Prosper 202
The next page will tell you to create a database. You did this part
already, so simply click Let’s Go!
Next you will come to a screen asking you to enter your database
details. Refer to the details that you copied down when you
created your database. Enter the appropriate details into the
“database,” “username,” and “password” fields. You shouldn’t
need to change the others. Click Submit.
Prosper 202
You should see a screen that says Prosper202 successfully
connected to the database. Click Run the install!
Next you’ll come to the account creation page. The email you
enter will be used to retrieve your password in case you lose it.
Select the time zone that you want Prosper202 to display your
stats in. The username and password you enter will be what you
use to log in to Porsper202. Once you’ve finished, click Install
Prosper202.
Prosper 202
Assuming everything went well, you should see a page telling you
installation was successful! Click on “Log In” and enter your
username and password. You are now up and running with
Prosper202!
Prosper 202
Well there you have it, the complete installation guide to
Prosper202. If you followed the steps and now have Prosper202
set up and working, congratulations! You are now one step closer
to creating a multitude of successful campaigns!
