The NDMVPS's K.B.T. College of Engineering, Nashik has been serving the society
larger since 1999. At present the college provides four year courses leading to Bachelor's Degree
of Savitribai Phule Pune University in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering,
Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering,
Civil Engineering, Information Technology along with post graduate courses in MBA, MCA,
ME Mechanical (Design Engineering) and ME Civil (Construction Management).
The purpose of this Newsletter is to provide information to the student-staff fraternity of
Nashik and society at large of the news, including relevant announcements and updates that we
believe are important to them. However, this newsletter is also a valuable tool for bolstering
morale, promoting unity, team spirit, motivating and rewarding achievements of KBT COE,
Nashik. This college News-Letter has been started from January 2017 and latest issue will be

Comprehending the gravity of the array of
skills that today’s corporate world expects from
fresh graduates, the management of KBT COE
has invested in a full time trainer, in the Training
and Placement cell, with the motive of propelling
the students on employability skill development
to aid them find an employment that is
financially rewarding and personally satisfying.
With focus on final year students who will be out
in the job market within 3 months, a variety of
training programs are being conducted v.i.z.
‘Interview facing techniques’ conducted by the
internal trainer.
Another value added training was
‘Employability Skill Development’ conducted by
Mahindra Pride, an award winning CSR project
of Mahindra & Mahindra group of companies to
empower youth by providing different trainings
to make them job ready. The 2 day training
workshop, for each department, on life skills and
employability skills has transformed the students
into confident, determined and goal oriented
youth; a personality shift essential to pursue
successful careers.
Training by Global Talent Track (GTT)
Another feather on the cap was attaching the
college with ‘Global Talent Track’ (GTT), which
in collaboration with Barclays bank has emerged
as a skill development venture which trains
aspiring students on vocational skills that will
help them get ready for the industry, bridging the
gap existent in their employability quotient.
GTT, initializing with an online aptitude test that
all 3rd and 4th year students appeared for, looks
forward to conduct specialization oriented ‘High
impact workshops’ for the students in March.

(February 2017)
Axis Bank, like every year, this year also
carried out the pool campus recruitment for the
post of Assistant Manager. The students from the
other MBA college of MVP Samaj, IMRT,
Nashik were also invited for this campus

Outbound Training Program at
Panchagani, Mahabaleshwar (12/02/2017)
MBA Department has been carrying out the
Outbound Training Program activity every year
since 2014. Every year students eagerly wait for
this activity as corporate trainer Mrs. Arya
Hycinth carry out this program in wilderness of
Panchagani, Mahabaleshwar. This year a batch
of 35 students geared up for 3-day training
session from 09/02/2017 to 11/02/2017. Students
learn and grasp various management concepts
through practical exercises. Corporate trainer
Mrs. Arya Hycinth designed 17 innovative
activities for students such as: Group Formations
and Guessing, Mirror Image, Diamond Steps,
Balance and Carry on, Blind Faith Walk, Blind
Pick, Smash Ball, Star Gazing, Jungle Safari,
Sunrise Candle Plant Visit, Ad-Mad Show,
Marble Game, Pipe Passing, News Paper Game,
Cooking, Poster Making and Mapro Plant Visit.

ESDP Training by Zensar Technologies,
Pune (18/02/2017)
The Department of Computer Engineering
keeps vision of preparing an engineer to serve
the industry. To inculcate the skills required for
the industry in Computer Engineering and IT
bachelors, ESDP training was organized by
Computer Engineering Department. The training
was conducted by Dr. Priya Jagtap from Seed
Infotech, Pune.

Mr. Bhavesh Bhatiya (Founder, Sunrise
Candles, Mahableshwar) is listed on Wikipedia,
recipient of many awards and the person from
whom we can truly learn, “Impossible means I M
Possible”. Mr. Bhavesh, who started his
endeavor with 5 Kgs of wax, today turning over
Rs. 10 Crore annually. This visually challenged
entrepreneur today leads the team of 225 visually
challenged workers manufacturing unbelievably
beautiful candles. In industrial visit at Sunrise
Candles manufacturing plant on 10/2/2017, Mr.
Bhavesh explained the various manufacturing
and marketing operations of company.

(01/02/2017):
In day to day life we may fall prey to crime
related incidents and students are more prone to
such situations. The questions that may arise in
our minds be, can these be avoided? In such
cases how the situations are handled? The MBA
department took this opportunity to arrange the
student visit to Forensic Science Laboratories
Nashik on 01/02/2017.

Forensic Science Department is a branch of
Police Department wherein the scientific
investigation of complex criminal cases is carried
out. Mr. Pankaj Pingate (Analyst, Forensic

common masses regarding addiction, his journey
of clinical research.

bad habits such as drinking alcohol. He gave

created interest about spirituality, meditation,
nationalism & human values. He also explained
about Bramha-Kumaris World Cultural
University that teaches a form of meditation that
focuses on identity as souls (as opposed to

intrinsically good and that God is the source of

(Saturday). She is also the alumni of the MBA
Department from the batch (2010-2012) and was
one of the two students from Nashik who got
placed in HDFC Bank Ltd. through campus
placement in the year 2012.

HR Meet (25/02/2017)
Dr. K. S. Holkar (Principal) addressing the HR Meet
The engineering students require industrial
exposure for the better learning of the subjects. A
lack of industrial exposure leads to less
awareness of the Industry practices. To bridge
the gap between industries and institute, we the
NDMVPS’s KBT COE arranged the NIPM-
NDMVP meet on the 25th Feb 2017.
The chief guest participated in the meet were
Mr. Uday Kharote (General Secretory M.D.,
Insto Cosmetics Pvt. Ltd. and Labour Law and
I.R. Consultant), Mr. S. S. Khairnar (Member
National Institute of Personal Management), Mr.
N. D. Bandal (Member, National Institute of
Personal Management). Various issues were
discussed in the meet about Industry-Institute
Interactions etc. The HR Meet of all the company

Cyber Security Cell (13/02/2017):
The Department of Computer Engineering
keeps vision of developing good values in
students to serve the society. Use of social media
is increasing in young generation. But with
increasing use of social media, the crime and
unethical attempts to use social media are also
increasing. To expose the students with these
issues, Cyber Security Cell is inaugurated in
NDMVPS’s KBT COE, Nashik at the hands of
Hon. Commissioner, Dr. Ravinder Singhal. The
program was organized by Computer
Department.
Nashik Police Department has started the
initiative under Police Public Participation (PPP)
Project for creating awareness among people
regarding cyber security. To participate in this
initiative, the members of this club will conduct
Cyber security awareness camps in various
schools of Nashik as a part of this activity.

session on soft skills development of students.
Mr. Paresh Chitnis conducted a training session
for the demonstrations in schools regarding the
Cyber Security awareness. He also encouraged
students to take a step towards research and how

by introducing Microsoft Azure for Students
facility.

appreciated student’s efforts for taking active

is inaugurated at the hands of Mr. Joy Aloor
(Director, FOX Solutions Nashik) Mr. Pralhad
Dhumal (GM, FOX Solutions Nashik) and Mrs.
Neelimatai Pawar (Hon. Sarchitnis, Maratha
Vidya Prasarak Samaj, Nashik). Chief Guest, Mr.
Joy Aloor gave the overview of FOX Solution
activities worldwide. In his talk he briefed the
journey of FOX Solutions as world class
automation solution provider.

The MVP Samaj Nashik was established in
the year 1914. Since then, it has been nurtured
and grown by many great people. These great
people are today known as Karmaveer in MVP
Samaj. One such person who made MVP Samaj
what it’s today is Karmaveer Adv. Baburao
Ganpatrao Thakare.
A Punyasmaran Program was organized in
KBT COE unit which is named after him in
respect of his great work. This program was
organized on 23/02/2017. In this program Dr. N.
S. Patil (Education Officer, MVP Samaj) and Dr.
K. S. Holkar (Principal) gave speeches
memorizing the greatness of work done by
Karmaveer Adv. Baburao Ganpatrao Thakare.
This program was attended by all the HODs and
the staff of KBT COE.

Awareness workshop (Women’s Redressal
Cell) 27/02/2017
Felicitation of Mrs. Vanita Deshmukh at the hands of
Dr. K. S. Holkar (Principal)
The college has established Women’s
Redressal cell for the betterment of women staff
and students in the college. Recently the cell
organized an awareness workshop on “Sexual
harassment of women (Prevention, Prohibition
and Redressal) Act 2013” as per the guidelines of
Maharashtra Rajya Mahila Aayog, Mumbai and
Savitribai Phule Pune University.
Mrs. Vanita Deshmukh was invited as chief
guest and resource person for the workshop. She
works for Yashoda Samajik Vikas Sanshta,
Nashik as a secretary. Mrs. Deshmukh addressed
the students about the importance of the
workshop. She also guided about DOs and
DON’Ts for girls and boys. The activity was
very helpful to increase awareness of students
about the sexual harassment which is very
essential now days for everyone. More than 250
students from all departments participated in this
awareness workshop held on 27th Feb 2017.

Health checkup camp (Women’s Redressal
Cell) 20 to 28 Feb 2017
The Women’s Redressal cell always works
for the well-being of women in the college.
Today almost every woman is facing health
problems because of modern life style. Keeping
the objective of providing health related
guidance; the cell organized a health checkup
camp for all female students and staff in the
college.
The camp was conducted by MVP Aarogya
Kendra in Nashik. All female students and staff
in the college took benefit of the camp held
during 20 to 28 Feb 2017.
Yuva Din by NSS (11/1/2017)
Swami Vivekanand has always been an
inspiration for young generation. Rajmata Jijau is
also a role model for all the girls and women. So
catching the occasion of Yuva Din, an elocution
competition was arranged on the topics “Swami
Vivekanandanche Vichar: Aaj cha Yuvak” and
“Ma Jijau Mata” for the college students by
National Service Scheme.

All students delivered their views on the
topic of their interest very expressively and
enthusiastically. The competition was judged by
Mr. Swanand Bedarkar. He also delivered his
thoughts inspired by Swami Vivekananda. The
activity made the Occasion of Yuva Din
memorable for all the participants.

Blood Donation Camp (31/01/2017):
MBA Department conducted on 31/01/2017,
was the Blood donation camp. This activity was
carried out in association with MVP Samaj’s
Vasantrao Pawar Medical College Blood-bank.
