JSS PRIVATE SCHOOL - AL SAFA
NEWSLETTER FROM GRADE 4
From the Teacher’s desk…
Extracurricular Activities :
Students start gravitating towards their preferred activities in
the 4th
grade. Some choose a sport, other’s a creative persuit
like music, dance etc. Some want to do everything. Other’s will
have trouble finding even a single activity that interests them.
Some kids thrive in the competitive environment of team sport,
but for other’s it’s too stressful. Some will choose an activity
just because their friends are doing it. While others will crave
individuality and seek out a more obscure.
Here comes the parents’ role to decide how many activities
their child can handle, and to make sure the child’s life doesn’t
become overscheduled and chaotic. Activities offer a great
opportunity for supervised social outlet, and they allow kids to
blossom in areas outside the classroom. Too many activities
can lead to burnout however.

Community week was very effective. As a part of community week students went out to discover areas of school where water is wasted. They made a detailed report and will also analyse the data to find out how this water wastage can be avoided. With colours and crayons they made fabulous posters on the theme save water.
Teaching Children proper dental care at a young age is an investment on his or her health that will pay lifelong dividends. With this aim in mind a dental screening in collaboration with Amber clinic was organized in our school premises. Doctors had a free talk with each student about his/her dental habits and gave necessary advices.
Each student received a report based on detailed diagnosis he or she underwent.
A wonderful show put up by grade 3 and 4 children.
With songs and dance the little angels conveyed the concept of environmental awareness. This show took them a step forward in their commitment to save the ecosystem.
It was a great show. Girls and boys bagged many medals. They looked like a fish in water and showcased their talents.
Its very evident that they have all been working hard on starts, turns and their stroke techniques are improving year after year”.
Happy birthday

Water Conservation Begins at Home. The students of Grade 4 at JSS PRIVATE SCHOOL conducted 3 Simple
step audit in the school on conservation of water. They obtained a map of
the school. A walk around the school was done to mark all water related
infrastructure on the map. They inspected each item marked on the map
and made notes regarding:
•Good things that are followed in school to save water.
•Things that could be improved.
•Monitors were appointed to watch the behaviour of
1. Do people leave taps open
2. How do the cleaners do their work
3. When does the garden get watered.
They summarized the finding and discussed on how the school had
performed overall. What can be done about it?
Students drew a poster (or series of posters) on the Water Use Audit to
tell the school community what they had found and what was going to be
done about it. Posters were displayed in class.
