Join Us For The Madison Area Restaurant Tour! Last year’s M.A.R.T. (Madison Area Restaurant
Tour) was such a blast that we’ve decided to do it again and add an extra night!! This year
though, we’re doing a more ‘progressive’ style dinner— where you start with an appetizer and end with dessert!! (At least 4 or 5 restaurants for per night—we are still
working on the order!) Don’t miss 2 lively evenings of casual networking, food, fun & celebration on July 28 and July 30!
Enjoy a Sedan on Demand chauffeur-driven limo exploration of featured Madison Area restaurants including at press time Chili’s, LongHorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Outback, Pollo Tropical, Rafferty’s, Red Lobster, and TGI Friday’s! We’ll start the fun at 4:30 pm at Madison Funeral Home (219 E. Old Hickory Blvd. in Madison), which is owned by Tom Sturdivant, who also owns Sedan on Demand. Gift bags will be given to each participant and door prize opportunities will be at each location! Tickets are $50.00 per person/per night. Only 25 spaces are avail-able each night, so get your tickets fast! Call us at 615-865-5400 to reserve!!
as they had good prices and great sales.
Thank you to Pam Schultz, Cathy Hoor-
mann, Lyn Noland, Suzanne Durham and
Joey Mason for coming out and shopping
with the graduates. Each graduate was able
to spend $300, which was made possible not
only by WIB fundraisers throughout the
past year but a very generous donation from
Maggie Martin of Bailey’s Wrecker Service.
The ladies had a little contest to see who
could get closest to the $300 mark and Joey
& Cathy's lady, Anita, got to within about
46 cents. Now that’s some shopping!
Women in Business will now start fund-
raising for the winter “Dress for Success”!
Want to get involved? Attend July’s
meeting on July 7th or call the Chamber
at 615-865-5400!

and all money will go directly to refill our funds after our Dress for Success

In addition to our regular business, we'll be reviewing how our “Dress for
Success” project went (see below), thinking about future “Girls Night Out”
fun events” and discussing our role in the upcoming Business Fair at A
Taste of Madison. Don’t miss out!
In June, the MRACC’s Women In
Business (WIB) partnered once again
with the Christian Women’s Job Corp
(CWJC) in Madison for their “Dress for
Success” Program, which provides
CWJC graduates with new, professional
outfits. As these women forge ahead
into the workforce, the Women In
Business wish to help ease the transi-
tion by providing clothing for these
accomplished ladies that will be
suitable for their new career.
This year they shopped at JCPenney,
which proved to be a great way to go,

Dear Women in Business,
I just want to tell you all that the ladies
and I love you!!! Each graduate had a
great time and they all texted me (after
shopping) with how special they
felt. Pam, it was great to see you at the
graduation-so glad you could make it.
Maggie, what can I say? Thank you is
certainly not enough, but we are ex-
tremely grateful.
I pray that God continues to bless each
of your businesses/organizations as you

Relay for Life Has Great 1st Year
Madison-Rivergate made history for
the American Cancer Society’s
Relay for Life in May—holding the
first-ever Relay inside a mall! Many
in our community came out to this
historic event at RiverGate Mall to
fight back against cancer! Donations
can still be made until August, but
right now the Relay has raised almost
$15,000, which surpassed expecta-
tions. Our Chamber/FiftyForward
Madison Station Team was among
the TOP fundraisers for this fantastic
community event, raising over
$1,400. Thank you everyone who
participated and/or donated!! Get
ready to make next year even bigger
and better!

In early June, Executive
Director Debbie Massey
and Board President
Karen Ramsey watched
Gov. Bill Haslam sign
into law a bill that private
clubs like the swingers
club that tried to come
into Madison, have to be
at least 1,000 ft away
from schools, daycares,
churches or parks. Thank
you Rep. Bill Beck (in picture with Karen) for pro-
posing this bill! This was a great example of our
community working together to protect its interests!
