"bole toh bohot.......lekin kaha kitna" !! Read it once again and
think for two seconds.
Tick........ Tick. Ok, the supple smile on your face indicates that you
understood it quite well. These words by Mr. Ashok Vajpayee (Ex.
Chairman Lalit Kala Academy) have already become a mass
favourite since they were spoken at JECRC Universitys campus on
the occasion of launch of CAI. JECRC University strengthened its
commitment towards a comprehensive development of students by
launching a unique Centre for Arts and Ideas, i.e., CAI where
students will have the freedom to cultivate their ideas and to
explore the artist inside them.
The launch event was blessed with the presence of all the
Advisory board members. A few to put in the picture - Ms.
Prerna Shrimali (renowned Kathak Dancer, representing Jaipur
Gharana), Mr. Sadanand Menon (Noted teacher of Cultural
Journalism), Mr. Mukund Lath (Padmashree Awardee and
Cultural historian), Prof. Nand Kishore Acharya (An Indian
Playwright, Poet and critic, currently Professor of Eminence at
IIIT, Hyderabad) and of course Mr. Ashok Vajpayee whose
jesting comment had a marvellous effect. We hope that CIA will
provide a much needed platform to the students where art meets
the ideas.

Xananoids, the celebrated robotics club of the college, has shown excellent performance in IIT-Gs
annual techno-management festival Techniche. JECRCians were able to grab positions in top-3 in 3
events namely Libraria with 2nd position, Pacman and Escalade with 3rd position. The events were
divided into two phases; the prelims were conducted in 12 cities all over india and were held on 8 th July
in Jaipur while the main event was conducted on 1st and 2nd September during Techniche 2012.
The challenge posed to participants in Pacman was of
making a robot that can traverse through a maze, in
Escalade it was to make a robot that can climb a staircase of
variable heights while for Libraria the objective was to help
the librarian, with a robot, sort out a pile of books and put
them back at their places.7 students of JECRC, also
members of Xananoids, selected for main event were
Dheeraj Singhal, Saurabh Soni, Dharmendra Sharma,
Dharmesh Agrawal from 5th semester and Rahul Kumar,
Akash Garg and Aditya Vijay from 3rd semester.
The accomplishments of Xananoids make us all feel proud, it as well regenerates active interest for
robotics in first year students many of whom now can be easily seen after college hours learning about
different kinds of sensors and motors used in making robots by the classes by Edubotix, a notedcompany in Indian Robotics.
When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the
wind, not with it. And have you ever thought what enables an airplane to do so? Well, aerodynamics
is the answer. Just a term may seem to be a laymans response, then why dont you get deep into it and
explore. ZENITH is a group for those students who are interested particularly in aerodynamics.
Students here are given knowledge about how to design planes and to make miniatures. ZENITH
doesnt restrict to learning but believes in performing too.
They bagged 1st prize in IIT Rajasthan in an event named "Taksh" which was held from 16th to 19th

Heres something for all the MOONRIDERS fans.
Their eminence explains why we dont have to make
any Introductions !
MOONRIDERS, the vivacious motor designing club of
JECRC recently participated in VIRTUAL BAJA, an
intercollegiate engineering design competition
conducted by SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers),India. For the contest, the team prepared a prototype
made of iron rods in scale of 1:4. Every inch of the
ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) was designed in AUTO-
CAD. In order to boost the vehicles capacity to
respond to the major challenges, the team carried
studies concerning the mechanisms of all the parts to
MOONRIDERS ride it virtually at VIRTUAL BAJA
be fitted in the vehicle.
The main event was conducted at Bangalore Institute of
Technology on August 25, 2012. Teams from some of the
esteemed institutes of India presented their designs.Following the presentation was a 15 minute questioning
session by the judges; brightest minds from within the top
Auto-market dwellers like TATA motors, NATRAX
comprised these. If qualified for the BAJA main event
scheduled in February 2013, the team gets to manufacture
their own car. The event is planned to take place in
Pithampur, Indore. So, in few days, if you witness a
trendy and speedy vehicle burning rubber in the college
campus, get to know , its a MOONRIDERS venture !
GreatAmbassadors at work
Its not just technical field where JECRCians have
proved their mettle but have now excelled the art of
juggling technical and non-technical events with
equal ease and have outshone themselves and this
August witnessed another such example!!
On 18th and 19th August 2012, four students of
JECRC participated in LCDMUN held at Law
College Dehradun, Dehradun. After attending 2MUNs, one at JECRC campus itself and the other at
JNU Jaipur, our proficient MUNers could not help
but savor the temptation of taking it outside Jaipur.
Three of these students, Rajat Mathur, Mayank Parnami and Sagar Tiwari were a part of ECOSOC
committee while Radhika Gupta participated in UNGA. Amidst over 100 delegates from all over the
country, mostly from non-technical academic background, our four budding engineers left an
impressionable mark and were hugely appreciated. Rajat Mathur also bagged Special Mention Award
for the third time in a row. So it will not be wrong to say that JECRC is surely a fast emerging hub for
MUNers.

Kindly tell us something more about
yourself.
Sir, I feel quite delighted to know about your
stories of college time and also post to yourcollege time from Arpit Sir and our faculty
members. You were quite active during your
college days. Do you miss those moments which
you relished?
I hope that the word heard is a good one :), but yes,
college life, as for everyone, proved to be a
wonderful journey for me too. The open culture
there encouraged to take a lot of initiatives,
implementing them, committing mistakes and
adding to self. Those moments, the environment &aura are surely missed.
Companies these days recruit students from all the
branches, like IT companies taking up people from
Mechanical. Are there any challenges which students of
other branches face while working in such a company?
When Crompton Greaves recruited me for Marketing, I
asked the very same question there, that I am not an MBA
then why are you taking me for Marketing? The answer I
received from our SBU head was "Engineers are like
potatoes which can mix up with any vegetable to add
value". Well the point he was trying to make was that a
person has two prime facets - Knowledge and Aptitude.
During engineering, you not only gain knowledge but also
develop the aptitude. Having said this, knowledge counts a
lot too, thus what I personally feel is that it is more about
the interest a person has. If you are appearing for an ITcompany and a computer is not a very good friend of yours
then you may not find working there easy. I chose electrical
as its curriculum was very rich in our times, having a good
combination of electronics as well as computer subjects
and I had an inclination towards them. Thus, I shall say that
if one enjoys what he does then nothing would seem like a
challenge.
What message would you like to convey to your
juniors? Also give your suggestions for enhancing
their overall development.
Have fun, but also make sure that you are adding
value to yourself and becoming a more capable
being. I shall surely recommend all to read a lot,
especially biographies and autobiographies. Through
this, you would get to know that there have been
bigger fools than you out there, who have
accomplished a lot in life, so if they can - then you
can too. Also, when in doubtask!
Is there anything else that you would like to
talk about or share with us?
Recently I got to meet a delegation from JECRC
to Hyderabad, and when people speak you can
make out what things they believe in, and it was
great to find that strong values seem to be getting
better in the Foundation, and as always, getting
inculcated in everyone associated with it. I wish
every member of this family a lot of success and I
would be very happy if I can help anyone from
this family if possible, in any way.
God Bless All!
I graduated from JECRC in 2005 in Electrical
Engineering.
I was placed from the college in Crompton
Greaves Limited as a Marketing Personnel and
currently I am working with CMC Limited, leading a team there for User Interface &
Experience in Product Designing.

Sir, you have been a part of Symantec , Mindstix
Labs , Amazon.com and currently you are
working as Senior Software Engineer with Geo
Technologies at Yahoo!.How do you evaluate the
growth in the Corporate World and its imprints
over the globe?
It has been a journey full of diverse experiences in
varied technologie and platforms. At all the places, Igot to work with great minds and got
to be a part of some of the most exciting products
which these companies had to offer. These include
the data center automation products at Symantec
to the famous book reader 'kindle' at Amazon &
from focused design driven web development to a
much much larger user centric maps and business
listings offering at Yahoo!
What suggestions would you like to give to your
juniors regarding internships?
What would you like to convey them in order to
enhance their overall development?
Internships are an important step towards your goals
and should not be done just for the heck of doing it.
We should definitely take the time to try out our
interest areas so that we make the correct choices.
Life is not just about earning money but more
about being happy so making the right choices is
very important.
How was your life at JECRC? Which faculty
members do you still recollect? Any memorable
moment at JECRC which you would like to share
with us?
The life at college was always full of fun and
enthusiasm. I will always cherish and miss the time
spent with the teachers and my friends at JECRC.
All the teachers contributed to my overalldevelopment in some way or the other. I can never
forget how Mukesh Agarwal Sir made data structures
and algorithms so interesting for us by his interactive
teaching methodology. He always allowed me to
think out of the box and let me experiment with the
projects and assignments.
Who is your role model? What is your Success
Mantra and to whom do you want to give the
credit for your Success?
My role model is my Dad, whom I always look upto
in case of any doubt I have in life. He has always
been there to support me in making all the right
choices in life. The very simple mantra of my life is
Take risks and follow your dream. I would like to
give the credit for my success to my wife(also a
JECRCian) as she has always been on my side and
has helped me in my endeavors which has made me
what I am today.
How being a JECRCian helped you
chase your dreams and achieve
them?
JECRC laid the foundation for me, the
faculty added a lot of value to my
knowledge base
and my friends at JECRC led to my
social & emotional development.

GRE is a standardised test measures verbal reasoning quantitative reasoning, critical thinking,
and analytical writing skills that are acquired over a long period of time and are not related to
any specific field of study. GRE is an admission requirement for many graduate schools in the
United States ,in the other English speaking countries and for English taught and business
programs world wide.
The GRE scores are technically valid for five years .However, most of the top universities do not
consider scores more than two years old . GRE tests you in the following sections :
Verbal section
Quantitative Section
Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA)
GRE 2012 Exam - Tips & Strategies for improved GRE Score
Attempt as many GRE practice tests and GRE sample tests as possible, as they will familiarize with
the general level of the questions that are asked in GRE exam and the directions for questions.
Optimizing time is very important in GRE. You should be aware how much time you can devote on
one question. You need to set your pace right. Rushing or sticking to a question for too long will cost
you valuable scores.
The similar appearing questions have substantial or subtle modifications and require different answer. So, pay close attention to the wording of each question before you decide on an answer.
You are penalized for not completing the test. Hence, your score depends on your accuracy, the
difficulty level of the questions and the number of questions you attempted.
Lastly, you may consider cancelling the test scores immediately after taking the GRE exam or quit the
exam, so that the scores do not get noted in your permanent record. Unfortunately, you have to do it
before you can see the test scores and the fees of the exam will not be refunded.
If you do cancel your GRE scores, this will be noted in your official GRE score report. It is not allowed to cancel the scores of only one section of the test.
So ,If you are pretty interested, take it up a notch to set records in your GRE scores!

Listening to the gasping haste of the soil as I watered a plant that
stands in a solitary earthen pot, I felt as if I fused life into stillness.
The smell of the moist soil damped with the freshness of a new life,
triggered an invigoratingly new thought!!!
While for all these days, I used to wonder how deeper the water
would have percolated down... its then, that I envisioned the
poured energy climbing up , instead ! Water, travelling upwards,
against all efforts by gravity, ...and delivering freshness and
liveliness to various partsas they are encountered one by one
the scattered roots sucking it till their limits, then the stem, the
twigs, distributing like tributaries from the ocean and flowing like
little brooks, digressing and dividing all to reach out to the green
and colorful ends leaves and fruits and flowers!! It is through
these tips that the intangible and unseen can be actually seen the
greener the livelier, the more colorful the more vibrant!
And as I watered more, I sensed an unexpected joy bouncing in my
heart and again I could see the life breathing and miraculously
smiling at me !
