Hello everyone,
May and June seemed to have slipped by so quickly since our last Newsletter. And, during this period, we had to contend with road construction (which forced us to cancel our planned Open House on June 3rd) during our wonderfully warm weather.
Also, in May and June, many interesting activities took place at our Centre: Financial Literacy for Seniors, Mike Jenkins’ presentation on Backyard Bugs, Skin Cancer is Preventable, Better Choices-Better Health, The Aging Brain, are some examples.
We also had a free hearing clinic, our regular fitness programs with Bonnie and Ilonka, a Shavuot Cele-bration Lunch, a wonderful, well-attended “Seniors on the Move” program with music provided by our “Young at Heart” Choir & Yossi Ovics who played accordion, a thoroughly enjoyable Kyrgyz Culture Day and our exciting Mystery Bus Tour.
I would like to give a big THANK YOU to our wonderful, committed volunteers for their energy and effort to provide for the wonderful food and successful programs at our Centre.
Have a wonderful summer. We encourage you to at-tend as many of planned activities as you can – and please bring your friends along to share and enjoy. They will thank you. Hal Simons
