Meeting for Peace AssemblyI’d like to meet with any available parents tomorrow,Wednesday, December 1 st to discuss the details of our Peace Assembly performance. We can meet brieflyafter school at 11:45. Sorry for the last minuteannouncement. If you can’t make it and have someideas please

just let me know.

Writing Numbers 0 – 10At one of the centers we did a quick

assessment of where the children are withwriting their numbers from 0 – 10 out of order. Inoticed quite a few backwards 2, 3, and 7’s.The number 5 was tricky for many. Please haveyour child practice writing numbers on a regularbasis, daily if possible. It’s helpful if you tellthem the numbers randomly, out of order, tosee if they can recall what each number lookslike and then record it correctly.

HomeworkThe homework due this Friday was in

your last Tuesday folder on November 23 rd . Thestars will make our new bulletin board, soplease make them colorful and fill in as much of the space as possible with your illustration.

You will find the book Games We Play inyour child’s folder. Please practice reading itand put it with his/her school collection. If youcan, please find time have your child practicewriting the word “play.”

**Charter Meetings**There are two very important meetings happeningin December. We are trying to come to a decisionregarding converting Open Plan to a charterschool. The first meeting on December 9 th willhelp to address your questions and concerns aswell as give you as much information as possible.Teachers will be present to go through this processwith you. Teachers are currently having in- depthconversations regarding the possibility of

converting to a charter and we will share ourthoughts as well as ask for your input on December9th . This is your opportunity to get the informationyou feel you need to make an informed decisionregarding the conversion of Open Plan to a charterschool. During the December 14 th meeting the Open Plancommunity will vote on whether or not to moveforward and submit a charter petition to thedistrict. This is your opportunity to influence thisdecision regarding the future of Open Plan.
