I would like to share a word of thanks to everyone for making Christmas so joyful this year at St. Athanasius Parish. Firstly, as I have already mentioned a few times individually or in a group setting, thank you for making the parish such a wonderful place to attend all season long. From the Christmas Faire to the Christmas Masses, any person walking through the door for the first time received a sense that we are a community that strives to love God and neighbor as Our Lord asks. I cannot count the number of times I was told by a visitor that he or she had a happy and fulfilling time with us. Secondly, a personal thank you for all the verbal Christmas greetings, cards, and gifts to the parish as a whole or to the staff and myself. Every expression is deeply appreciated and deserving of a thank you either by note or face to face. However, absent that, please allow this bulletin entry to count as a formal expression of gratitude for all the good will that I received as your pastor this year. It is truly a blessing to be here with you and to share the Lord’s mysteries together. May you and your loved ones be further blessed this Christmas season and in the New Year!

Christmas Faire 2015:
Thank You Cards If you volunteered at this year’s Faire and missed our wrap up party, kindly pick up
your thank you card in the basket in the back of church. We so appreciate all you did to make the Faire a success! Be on the lookout for
a more complete thank you notice in the Bulletin in early January.
Thank You from Catholic Charities
and Reading Food Pantry
Catholic Charities and the Reading Food Pantry
have expressed their thanks and appreciation for
the parish’s great generosity in the Thanksgiving
and Christmas collections. Christmas was a
brighter day for many families through the parish’s
efforts. The very generous donations of
supermarket gift cards will ease the hunger crisis
many Lynn families face as the temperatures drop
and decisions are made whether the family can
“eat or heat”.
Thank You
Thank you to Carl & Elinor D’Angio for
donating 1 week of heating oil

St. Athanasius Parish Outreach
We are expanding our outreach efforts so that we
may better assist those in our community who may
need a helping hand in a variety of ways. We are
looking for volunteers who would be willing to assist
in the following ways:
♦ Drive parishioners to church
♦ Prepare meals
♦ Visit parishioners who may be unable to attend
church
♦ Bake desserts for the Sawtelle Hospice House
Please let us know if you can provide any of these
important services. If you are already on the Hospice
House dessert list, you do not need to volunteer for
that effort again since we already have your contact
information. Please contact Ellen Terry at
[email protected] or 781-944-5431 to volunteer
for any of these programs. THANK YOU!
