BOOKLET
There’s a Small Group for You at ReynoldaThere’s a Small Group for You at ReynoldaThere’s a Small Group for You at ReynoldaThere’s a Small Group for You at Reynolda
At Reynolda, we recognize that at any given point in time we all are
at various stages in our life journey.
You may be a . . .
• student
• married couple
• single parent
• retiree
Or you may be . . .
• exploring Christianity and church life
• a long-time follower of Jesus
• new to Winston-Salem and looking to meet people
You may be interested in . . .
• playing basketball
• learning to hear God’s voice
• exploring what the Bible teaches on prayer
• getting support for issues you struggle with
So when it comes to Small
Groups, one size does not fit
all!
We invite you to read through the variety of Small Groups at Rey-
nolda and find a group that fits your schedule and life. Contact the
group leader and give the group a try.
Are you new to Reynolda? All members are encouraged to be in a small group. We suggest you
to get started in Small Group life by participating in Alpha and
S.H.A.P.E. during your first year of membership.

Answers to Common QuestionsAnswers to Common QuestionsAnswers to Common QuestionsAnswers to Common Questions What is a Small Group?
A Small Group is a gathering of people who come together on a regular
basis to grow in relationship with God and each other. Small Groups
provide a place to belong—a place to “do life” with others and form au-
thentic relationships. At Reynolda, the primary way you will give and re-
ceive care and love is through involvement in a Small Group.
Who is in a Small Group? Each group has at least one leader who helps facilitate the group. The
group’s members are people who share a common interest, hobby,
purpose, location, or stage of life, along with a desire to grow in their
relationship with Jesus.
Why would I attend a Small Group? Because God created us to be relational, life is better when shared with
others. It is in the context of Small Groups that you’ll be able to form the
good friendships necessary to grow, change, and mature spiritually.
How do I join a Small Group? • Sunday and most Wednesday Groups are always open. You may just
show up and try them without obligation to permanently join the
group.
• Check them out and see which group “fits.”
Will there be childcare provided? Childcare depends on the group, but ALL GROUPS on Sunday morning and
Wednesday evening have childcare provided. For all the other groups, we
list if childcare is provided.

Introducing a new Reynolda Church fellowship group. We are looking for
others who also share a love of contra dancing – or are looking for a new way
to have fun.
What is Contra Dancing?
• A form of North American folk dance in which the dancers form two
parallel lines that run the length of the hall.
• Under the direction of a caller, dancers progress through a particular
sequence for each dance. There is a “walk-thru” before the start of the
dance so everyone becomes familiar with the flow.
• It has absolutely no relation to country-western line dancing!
BALANCE & SWING CONTRA DANCERS
• Our dances are organized by the Fiddle & Bow Country Dancers and are
held at smoke-free, alcohol-free environments.
• There is always a live string band for our dancing (or listening) pleasure.
• Newcomers are always welcome, and you do not need to bring a partner.
After each dance, everyone is asked to find a new partner.
• Ages of dancers range from teens to retirees.
• Come ready to enjoy a great workout, smile constantly, and share lots of
laughter.
• Modern contra dance originated from English and Scottish country
dance. Most contra dance music is up-tempo and traditional, often
with Celtic, New England, or Appalachian influence.

notices of dances and contra workshops,
